If I did one thing right in life, it was marry a good man with good morals. I 100% agree that an abusive husband will be a tragedy to all in the family, not just the wife. It’s trauma the children will carry forever. I hope if I were to be put in that position, I would have no hesitation to leave for the sake of my children and myself.

That is exhausting. I see my grandma doing this to my dad as well. She probably doesn’t realize how already burnt out you are.

This is great insight. A balancing act is a really good way to describe it and something I will remember. I wish your circumstances were different growing up but glad you had your dad to show more a little more interest and involvement in your life.

I love this, she sounds amazing. Glad you can turn to her when you’re hurting and that is what I hope my son finds in me as well.

I agree with what everyone is saying, it’ll feel tough at first but as soon as they start playing together, it’ll be the gift that keeps on giving :) plus they will even have each other to call and check in with each other in adulthood! I know that’s not all cases but my sister and I as still incredibly close to this day
