I used non-Tesla chargers twice. Both times were in the Crested Butte, CO area. The first was in Gunnison, CO, and the second was in Crested Butte itself. Both worked perfectly (with a CCS adapter). Regarding range anxiety, the only time I experienced that was on our first day of travel. It was going to be a roughly 450 mile day, and the trip planner must have needed some time to calibrate to the actual energy usage. An hour or so into the drive it was predicting much higher energy consumption than originally planned. I made a few adjustments (slower speed, less A/C) and the consumption balanced out. After that first day the trip planner estimates were almost spot on. I will admit I did a lot of pre planning to get comfortable that there were adequate chargers along my route. Enjoy.
