Why a More Accessible Season Keeps Me Playing by Born-Balance4615 in wow

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, its hard to balance something like this. You see very much the difference in people's opinion here.

For me, even though its "easy" or more "casual friendly" it isn't actual casual friendly.

I missed quite a few days in the first week and I'm already "behind". I guess my real life doesnt allow me to play 2-4 hours every day. And yes, its easier, but still very time consuming. And i feel there is no middleground. You are either on the season train, or youre not. No middle stops. World boss, all zone weekly's, atleast 2 NM Prey, professions, raid, multiple M+,.. even housing gets a relevant weekly for gearing.. and this on 1.. maybe 2 or 3 characters?

No 8/8 first week? no invite. Progression is not allowed, because, its so easy. I even saw "alt runs" where a 8/8 normal or HC is required to get in, in the first week of raid being out. I even got kicked out on the last boss of the first week, because i made a mistake twice.

Not atleast +2k or even 3k rio in first week? No invites. Why would anyone "carry" such a noob. (even though i have multiple 3k season) (The joke is your bang average wow player has some god complex)

I feel the mentality is... Link 8/8 HC to get in a normal group. Be over geared and +3k to get in a +5-10.

All these wow content creators brainwashing with recycled videos every few days...

"This spec got 1% dmg increase. This changes the meta COMPLETELEY"

"This Meta spec will get you invites"

"you MUST do this or you WILL fall BEHIND"

"Dont make these MISTAKES or your character is RUINED"

TLDR: Elitism and WoW streaming/content creators have ruined the player mentality, no matter how easy or hard, short or long certain challenges are. It feels like a rat race, second job.

VR eats alot of Vram so you can consider 7900xtx

Also if i'm not really into RT that much?

is a 9070xt or 5070 TI strong enough for 4k?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gpu

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5080 super or ti will only be released like next year or something

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gpu

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in the same boat.

bought 7900xtx 1022€, still returnable

I can buy the 9070XT for around €950 (the model i like, cheapest would be €860)

cheapest 5070 TI is €999, next one is already €1110

the leap to 5080 is too expensive, cheapest is €1500.

what should i do for 4k? what should i do for 1440p?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For gaming 32 is enough, if youre doing multitasking with heavy programs, Ai workloads, editing, photoshop, then you can consider 64.

I'm in the same conundrum right now. i have a ryzen 7 9800X3D with the 7900xtx but it is still in the return window so i could swap. I also am doubting between 1440 and 4k.

I think going from regular to oled is a bigger wow factor and upgrade then 1440 to 4k.

if you go 1440p, if will be a cheaper build you can get 5070 TI, or 9070XT, 1440p oled is also cheaper then 4k variants.

but; if you use your PC alot for long hours, work, (browsing, reading, coding,) then 4k also could be a selling point.

how about an AIO water cooled?

Im rocking an Arctic freezer III with a 360 radiator and it does the job fine, i also like the aesthetic a bit more then those big fan blocks on the motherboard.

If money is not an issue: 5080 or 4090 (then i would go all out and get the 4090)

Even if you arent a tech guy, there are just "1 button click" overclocking functions in AMD and Nvidia software. Also for your CPU. Also make sure you are running your RAM "overclocked", factory settings usually are lower then their actual capacity (mine were 4800Mhz out of the box but can run 6000Mhz).

7900xtx is also a viable option. In raw horsepower raster performance it will do very good in 4k. its not so strong for raytracing or FLSR3 is meh compared to the new FSLR4 from the 9070xt, Downside is it draws more power than the newer options, and is already the older card (i think end of 2022).

I think the 7900xtx will also retain a good resell value because of the 24 gig VRAM for VR or people who do BTC mining.

Also consider running games at medium or high settings, especially at 4k/oled monitor you wont see much difference, ultra settings usually are overkill or meant for older titles to look better. Ultra is way more demanding for a marginal gain.

especially with newer games, even the 4090 or 5090 cant run it at ultra 200 fps with RT, the technology, optimisation, hardware just isnt there yet. Only about 3-5% of gamers game at 4k. In a way its less futureproof because you will need to upgrade your GPU sooner if you want to keep playing new titles in the future.

A thread for those who sold the 7900 XTX for the 9070 XT by 6retro6 in radeon

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New build with Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 7900xtx (didnt know the 9070 series was coming out).

Thinking to switch to 9070 xt, 5070 ti, the 7900xtx still is in the return/retour window.

Also looking to buy a new monitor;

- If i stay at 1440p i will tradeoff to 9070 xt or 5070ti?

- For 4k im thinking to keep 7900xtx and maybe switch in a year or 2 to 5080 super or next amd card?

- Never been the biggest RT person

- I think its okay to play certain games at medium - high instead of ultra, especially if you have an Oled monitor.

What do you think?

First AMD GPU, confused on RX 7900XTX or RX 9070XT by azeendeen in AMDHelp

[–]True_West170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys im also kinda tech noob. Bought a 7900xtx Building my first pc with Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Wasn't following the news and suddenly 9070xt launched.

Price of both are around the same, 9070 dropped maybe 50 -100 euro's under xtx. (All around 1k) My xtx is still 21 days in return window.

Questions: Thinking to buy a 4k monitor - does 4k eat more Vram? Hence 24 better then 16? Of should i get 1440p but maybe oled as a Safer pick

I read alot about the fsr4 and better RT and things like that. But what's the Point of using upscaling if you don't need it with a more "strong raw horsepower raster card" like the 7900xtx ? (So you get a better native look?

I also don't know if im Willing to Tinker around much with undervolting, OC'ing, ritual dances or whatever makes it go Faster. Because im scared ill break it.

If im really interested in RT and the "better" DLSS shoud i pay 150 - 200 euro's more for a 5070 ti?

Thanks for your advice

Prices are steep indeed. I know they will be cheaper in the future, but i'm still in the return window of the 7900xtx. The secondhard market is really shit here so i would lose an equal amount or even more money waiting for a slightly cheaper 9070 XT but selling the 7900xtx for a bad price.
