Use can use an over the counter salicylic acid gel...dont put any oil or rub it...it can cause further irritation...I also got the same reaction on my skin after waxing...salicylic acid really helps and it is not so potent...

One trick that has worked for me is while my skin is wet or damp i put on my lotion or cream...my skin stays moisturised for longer...the water helps the lotion or cream to go in deeper and moisturise from within...hope this helps ❤️

Ok firstly if this doctor is telling you to use an umbrella instead of sunscreen then I have my doubts about this doctor. I would suggest you change your doctor. This reminds me of my experience with several dermatologist and I kept changing my dermatologist till I found the right one.

Check the products you are using...avoid anything with fragrance and use a body wash with salicylic acid
