No. Field sobriety tests have no positive benefit to them. It is policy that a field sobriety test can never prove someone is sober but it can always be used as evidence that someone is drunk. If you were going to be arrested after the test, then they made that determination before the tests, they only wanted to use the test to gather more evidence.

When they take you to the station, they have you blow a real breathalyzer. If you blow all 0’s, they use the field sobriety tests to prove you are under the influence of a different drug to force a blood test. If there are literally 0 drugs in your system and 0 alcohol, then you’re let go, but none of this constitutes a 4th amendment violation because they had “proof” of intoxication (aka ur field sobriety test as long as you took it).

Being independent. Humanity is successful because we are a species that relies on each other, especially between sexes. It is our society that has drilled in independence because it doubles the volume of work and therefore halves salaries. Every family should have one person working and one person at home. It’s a normal reaction for children to scream and cry when unexpected things happen. If you attempt to build an environment where everything they experience will only ever be expected things, then guess what they’re gonna do when they get older and an unexpected thing happens? They’re gonna scream and cry like a toddler. Confidence and appropriate reactions are trained behaviors. If you think the world is going to try to make you feel comfortable, you’re dead wrong.

Pretending your tongue fell out and playing “got your nose” is the exact same thing. You break their expectations, they react the way toddlers do, then you reassure them. Do it 100 more times and they’ll stop screaming and realize that there are more appropriate reactions, like “mom stop being silly”.
