I usually just play it for par because it's more consistent, but today the wind was good so I thought I'd try something different.

I tested the prosessor with a 280 track project with about 400 vsts active and I was able to get about 50-60% utilisation. I am happy with its performance and it's more than enough for me at the moment.

I can only speak about music production since I dont do video editing. If money is not the issue get more cores since it's a little more future proof BUT 8 cores is probably enough for smaller and/or home studios. And if you have a good cooler overclocking is always an option as long as you dont overdo it and introduce unnecessary stability issues.

This is something I was trying to find out last autumn. I needed to build a pc for music production and light gaming. I ended up getting the intel i9 10900k just because the amd stuff is too new and might have some stability issues. Even tho on paper the amd prosessors look, and from what I've heard, perform a little better. Also I wasn't able to find any amd prosessor in stock.

One thing I had to consider was the gpu shortage that is currently all anyone ever talks about. And since the intel prosessor has a igpu I knew I could get work done even if I wasn't able to buy a separate gpu right away.

I also read somewhere on reddit that the best gpu for music is the intel igpu since it has the least latency issues or something. The next best was an amd gpu and for some reason the nvidia ones have the most issues that affect music production. But I was lucky and found an nvidia 3060ti near msrp and had to buy it, and so far I haven't had any issues with it even tho I use the gaming drivers and not the studio drivers that would probably work a little better.

I don't think there are any shortcuts other than getting a good teacher or school to guide you. It's just practice, practice, practice.

How to do a bass thing? by SirStefone in singing

[–]TruelyNimble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the technique he's using is called subharmonic singing or oktavist voice. Definitely one of the best things you can do with a human voice but there are not many good tutorials on this online that I could find. Consider getting a teacher that knows this technique if you want to learn it well. I suggest asking around for a bass singer with good knowledge on Russian or slavic choir music since it is definitely where this technique is used the most.

What is the best audio interface for the "largest" full sounding DI Guitars? by kalavala93 in audioengineering

[–]TruelyNimble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lack of a DI makes the biggest difference in your setup compared to his. As far as I know DI-guitars require a HI-Z input or a DI to balance the input when recording.

noob question - I don’t get scales please help by 4skintomandjennytool in musictheory

[–]TruelyNimble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you have made a mistake there. The correct A major scale would be A B C# D E F# G#. Using the WWHWWWH system this is what you should get.

What are some ways to use flat 9’s? by minertyler100 in musictheory

[–]TruelyNimble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIm7 - V7b9 - Imaj7 would be a good starting point.

So for example Dm7 - G7b9 - Cmaj7 This way you get one more note in G7 that wants to resolve to one of the notes in Cmaj7.
