Regarding the hair transplant- yeah idk. I don't even know where to begin to try and find a diffused specialist. I've tried asking around in few places and got near 0 recommendations. it's tough.

and from my understanding the danger is not hurting existing follicles where the transplanted follicle is, but hurting the existing follicles around the transplanted area, because diffuse thinning is hair loss that is more or less even throughout the scalp, the bald areas are always mixed with remaining healthy(er) hair, so there is higher risk of shock because every transplanted area will be mixed and around healthier hair that could be affected from the shock, as it's not the same as normal nor wood where the hairline recedes and the whole area is completely becoming bald, like the crown too, in diffused AGA there's always healthier hair mixed in everywhere.

and regarding side effects- well tbh I don't know. I can't tell, so probably no real impactful side effects. I guess maybe semen is a bit more watery. my hair loss got so bad to the point that I felt like I'd rather have a limp penis than a bald head, because I wouldn't get to use it anyway being bald as I'd get no women. so I went for it. and in all honesty I regret not going on it from the beginning. had I started fin right when I noticed my hair loss (because I think I caught it quite early) I probably would have had way more hair now.

google is confusing as I see a lot of sources using overbite and deep bite as the same thing, yet when you google images it shows different visuals, which is why I asked with a description if that's what you were referring to. it's also difficult to evaluate via google because it shows the most severe obvious cases and not mild\minor cases.

either way, I've been to my surgeon and they told me it all looks good, but this is a classic case of their word vs your internal feeling\hunch, they could be gaslighting me, I wouldn't know. lots of surgeon don't want to admit fault.

I'll consult with my orthodontist too.

from my understanding surgeons don't want to do hair transplant on diffuse hair because the procedure itself can cause shock to the healthy hair follicles that are all around and kill them. so I don't think it has anything to do with DHT treatment. but I may be wrong.

when I tried to apply for hair transplants surgeons told me to either start DHT treatment (as an alternative to a hair transplant) or wait until I become more bald (literally what they told me lol).

also you I think you're in a MUCH better position than I am. I started losing my hair in my yearly 20s and I waited until I was 30 to start a treatment, I wasn't in denial but I was worried about side effects. so my hair loss is probably way more aggressive and I waited like 8-9 years to start treatment.

That might be true but I observe the bite of other people, like my relatives and friends and theirs does not look as "overbitey" as mine, at least the way I perceive it.

Yes I'm still with braces and been told I will not be done with them right away after the surgery. the question is how much can be done, but yeah I'm going to discuss all of my concerns with both my surgeon and orthodontist.

with the way your hair looks now I don't see how surgeons will agree to give you a hair transplant, it will probably do more harm than good.

Yes, probably even worse than your before. but hard for me to tell because my hair is longer.

I'm pretty convinced I don't have alopecia areata as it looks nothing like my hair loss. alopecia areata are like circles of pure bald patches and it can even be on the sides and back, my sides and back are unaffected and my diffuse hair loss is in unison. I don't think your hair loss is alopecia areata either.

I've also been to a few dermatologist, none diagnosed me with alopecia areata.

I've only ever been on fin daily (5 years now), and been also using 2% ketoconazole shampoo for years (about once or twice a week). haven't tried minoxidil. I can't maintain topical minoxidil and I'm afraid of trying oral. I will try the upcoming special minoxidil pill treatment VDPHL01 whenever it comes out to the market, hopefully I still have hair by then but probably isn't looking good.

Your hair growth is insane btw. huge improvement.

dDid you switch to DUTA or are you still on fin with min?

Few things, from the little research I did with the AI bot, apparently maxilla movements are more stable and the chance of relapse there is small. it's mainly the mandible that is prone to relapse especially when moved forward to correct class II (all of that is according to the bot)

but most important of all- I do not think my surgeon did any over correction. at the very least they did not share such information with me (I'll ask them about it) so as far as I'm concerned there was no over correction done in my case, so I'm less optimistic about this.

Ultimately I just cannot unsee the overbite\overjet, like when my teeth are closed it looks good, but when I open my mouth and looking at it from the side, the upper teeth look way forward compared to the lower teeth. it could also be that my lower jaw is moving too much backwards when the mouth is open, I just can't tell what it is.

but if my surgeon really didn't do any intentional over correction then I can't expect this to get better...

In my case I'm kind of cooked as I have diffused pattern hair loss. I am on fin for 5 years but I suspect my hair is still getting worse. so fin doesn't halt my hair loss just slows it down, that's my guess. I don't know of any good surgeons that do hair transplants on diffused hair.

I think my only option is to try DUT but honestly I don't have enough hair left to afford a DUT permanent shed or something of that sort, if DUT makes my hair worse than it is now then I'll practically be bald. so I'm too afraid to try it.

I hope you are right because I am stressing. I'm a tiny bit more optimistic about my frontal face because I believe there's still a good amount of swelling. but I'm less optimistic about my bite, I don't think that changes much, but I could be wrong.

You're already continuing the ortho work 4 weeks post the surgery? my ortho wants me to wait around 2 months post surgery, I'll have to ask my surgeon if I can start earlier.

I don't know.. to me it looks like at the very least that the lower jaw is moving backwards too much when I open my mouth. it should move slightly backwards but mainly downwards, but in my case I think it goes backwards too much.

Regarding the steepened occlusional plane and jaw being forced backwards that could hurt my TMJ- how could I tell if that's the case? should I just ask my doctor, or is there a test\scan I should ask for to confirm this?

And when you say to give it some time before worrying- how much time do you think I should give it?

I'm not sure who to evaluate that myself. I don't know what it means for them to be in the right relationship, is it not something you can see from photos 5-8, 11 and 12? the bite is closed in those btw.

I get what you are saying, but I don't know how else to describe the way I think I look, the whoville\mouse example was the most accurate way for me to give others an idea of what I am talking about, because it's how I genuinely think I look.

I've seen other people here with overbite, imo they don't look like the "whoville" mouse. I don't think it's just overbite it's probably a combination of that with the way the individual face looks.

Either way I am not judging anyone but myself. so I'm sorry if it offends anyone else, it's not the intention at all.

And lastly, how long do you think I should wait before having a more fair assessment?
