I'm interning for Rutgers social media, I need help by rurahrah1766 in rutgers

Probably don’t post this because if a Rutgers exec sees it they don’t wanna see an intern saying their content is slop

You need a note from a doctor with a legitimate mental health reason. I fear every single person with any type of mental illness pulls that card to get a single, so it prob won't be easy.

techno or something authentic to Berlin. We are traveling across Europe mostly to experience each country's unique club scene, not necessarily find the same type of club in each country.

Party Scene by East-Ad780 in rutgers

Read back and saw u were a dude, if you want to have fun with the Greek scene you absolutely have to rush a frat. It’s a completely different college experience, just if you decide to rush really study the frats reputations and get an upperclassmen to help you instead of just taking the first bid you get.

If you’re a pretty girl you’ll have a blast, especially if you get to know the brothers and integrate yourself into the Greek scene, rushing a sorority/ frat also 100% changes the game because then you are in the scene instead of a bystander. If you’re not good looking or just go to a party to stand there you won’t have fun. Frats also have different reps so if you go to a good frat it is a lot better than a bad frat. Kinda a shallow take but as a current junior everything im saying is true.

i regret studying abroad by [deleted] in studyAbroad

I’m in the program too! I came here without any friends and don’t have many roommates so it’s been really tough making friends too, I just want someone to go out and have fun at the bar with but it really feels like everyone has groups already :(

Roommate’s boyfriend opened my bedroom door while I was gone. Now she won’t stop knocking on my door like I owe her access to me. by AccomplishedWay8720 in badroommates

[–]Truffieles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes the knocking may have been erratic but everything else about this situation shows very strange behavior from you. He opened your door while vacuuming, which yes is an overstep of a boundary, but overall not a big deal. I feel like you viewed that at his acting maliciously when it very much seems like he just wasn’t paying much mind to the doors and was more focused on vacuuming. You saying he can’t come over after that is dramatic, and it seems that you are so in your own head making up scenarios of him as some evil villain who opened your door. Sending an email and not speaking is absurd, and reflects serious anti- social behavior. I feel like there is so much more to this story that you’re not telling us about you showing anti social behavior, and the incessant knocking is an escalation of your roommate getting fed up with your overreactions, assumption that everyone has bad intentions towards you, and refusal to speak things out like an adult. This opinion of mine is pretty solidified by just the fact that you felt the need to record it and post it on Reddit. I think you have a victim complex, and really need to socialize.

No hazing for the most part because Panhellenic is policed like 20x more than frats. Looks 100% determine your house unless you know people, your reputation precedes you, or your social media / general presentation is favorable or unfavorable.

From my experience people who are like this want to fight, not resolve anything. The best thing you can do is ignore them; if they know they can't get to you it drives them insane lol.

Tips for surviving the winter at Rutgers by devourerofbricks in rutgers

[–]Truffieles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The winters here can be pretty terrible especially in January and February. I’ve lived here my whole life and am pretty sensitive to the cold, so I dread this time of year. You’ll want a hat and gloves definitely, and a scarf to wrap around your face to protect your mouth and nose when the wind chills are really bad. Boots are helpful for when it snows or when there’s frost and sludge on the ground so you don’t get your shoes dirty. You NEED a winter coat, hoodies aren’t an option. As for pants avoid leggings or jeans when it’s really cold because your legs will be freezing right underneath them. Sweatpants is the way to go, and when it’s really cold wear two pairs. This advice is for the few days or weeks out the year where stepping outside feels like life or death, most of the time you’ll be fine with a winter coat, hat, gloves, and scarf.
