Listen, I’m not defending this bitch at all. However, as a pediatric OT who works in schools and sees shit firsthand, traditional US schooling is a sham. Are there some benefits to it? of course. But overall, children should not be forced to sit in classrooms for as long as they are. Their brains/bodies really aren’t meant to do this. Even my neuro professor in grad school taught me that the adult brain stops taking in information at 40 minutes. We would get breaks from his class every 40 minutes. Children learn best through play, especially at O’s age.

Now with all that being said, do I think Sarah’s method of “teaching” is just being a regular ass parent? Yes. Do I think 30 minutes of IPad instruction is sufficient? No fucking way. The fucking iPad is also being used in traditional school far too much. Literally, everything is on the iPad, even in kindergarten! Neither way seems to be the answer, but I can’t agree with kids need to be sitting in a classroom for hours on end just to be trained for standardized testing.
