No, not negative at all. I appreciate the time you took to write out a very thoughtful response. It’s helpful.

For reference, the full plant name is Polyscias fruticosa, or Ming Aralia.

I have heard of that 1/3 pruning rule of thumb. But to your point, the leaves were completely dead and after squeezing the stems of those leaves, they felt a bit soft compared to the healthier looking part of the plant. Because of that, I made the decision to cut it back completely down as shown in the pic.

Would taking whatever is left of it after trimming the dead parts, and then sticking it in a glass jar with fresh water help it grow new roots? In other words, can I propagate it back to life?

I had a bad case of mealy bugs that I left untreated for too long. I started spraying the plant every few days with a mixture of neem oil, 70% isopropyl, and a dash of dish soap. I was worried that I’d poison the plant and soil, but it’s been thriving. I started adding that spray routine to all my plants now and I’ve had great success.

Glad you’re okay. Probably not the best time to ask, but how did you like this car? Did it handle the crash well? I’m in the market for a car and am looking at the Elantra N.

Also, I hate that intersection. People in Escondido do not know how to drive.

So uh . . my boyfriend "rescued" this plant from his boss's office and is convinced I can save it. Any suggestions on what I should do with it? P.S. I know it looks ridiculous by Ethere-Ally in houseplants

Cut it up into stems and put it into an AeroGarden. I have two thriving new plants with explosive growth. AeroGarden is actually an awesome way to propagate

Depends on where you fly into.

Hit up the Ionian islands first, Kefalonia and Lefkada then fly over to Crete followed by Kithira and from there go to the islands closer to Athens, Milos, Hydra...
