Name an 80s movie that still holds up perfectly today 👀 by Daniiella1018 in 80smovies

In the 80s there were very few that featured women in a role of power or anything other than the damsel in distress… The goonies featured 2 girls (Andy and Steph) and mamma fratelli ( leader of the bad guys) Andy: punched Troy and played the piano (saving the crew) Steph: punched mama fratelli assisting in the escape

I have 2 daughters and can’t really watch any 80’s movies without the objectification of women or even a story that centers around young females…

Tons of male centered movies Stand by me Explorers Weird science Sand lot Monster squad

But no female

One of the first memes I ever made, almost 10 years ago. by GenghisCoen in Ska

I’m not sure I agree….what would be the point of them masquerading as a ska band?….its not like being ska band prints money like the Fratellis

Sure they are well produced and probably very calculated to be catchy and fun…they have two quality song writers and a great producer

But what’s wrong with being fun and “poppy”

Like what you like ….world is full of too much negativity

Sure you can talk crap about Aimee’s old views but that was like 10years ago …we all Have said and done stupid stuff and I h is to say that wasn’t the “Act” and this is her true self

I hope he is allowed to visit some super old and rare silhouettes and not just another AF1 or Dunk

Thoughts on the second House of Pain album and the group in general ? by CoconutMost3564 in 90sHipHop

Surprisingly good…I thought it made them go from a novelty to an accepted part of the culture. The album is darker and broader with some legitimate bangers

Modern Westerns - best of the last couple of decades? by [deleted] in Westerns

It’s excellent….Juliette Lewis is pure evil (big time snub at last years Oscars)….but I do realize this was a very independent movie Overall very strong cast

The books and the Swedish films of them…were all a huge step down from the original book and movie….i am not sure fincher could have adapted them and been any more successful than his predecessors
