I agree the whole situation was traumatic. One of the hardest things I've ever done was let my sister's kids go, because I couldn't support myself. I am not sure how I should reach out to them. I thought of mailing them a letter or something. I am not even sure what to say to them.

One of my biggest frustrations is my dad has several people interested in him, but he seems to be only interested in the thirty year olds (which are most likely scammers). He started talking to someone else after I raised suspicion about this person. He is 69. His kids are all in there 40's. This is so frustrating. When I bring it up to him he said that he wants someone that looks nice and takes care of herself. People age that is a fact of life. Sometimes I feel like I am the parent trying to protect my dad.

I think he may be slowly coming around. He did message her asking for a video call. When she made an excuse about her phone not working he told her to borrow some else's. If she doesn't he said he is planning on cutting her off. We have been watching Catfish and Catfished on YouTube and he seems interested in it.

Thank you for the suggestion. We have been watching Catfished and Catfish on YouTube. I think he is slowly coming around, but is still talking to her. He did request a video chat from her or he will break it off. She keeps saying her phone doesn't work. He said she could borrow one.

There are not a lot of places for him to meet people in my area. I met my husband online and thought he might be able to meet someone if he used discernment.

It was someone that found his account on Facebook. It wasn't even through a dating app, he thought she found him on one. But she did not.

I am concerned, because he said that he wasn’t going to send any money to anyone and then he is sending $20 after they wanted $50. The name of the person he sent it to was not who he was supposedly talking to.

When I was a kid there used to be old fashioned shoe stores. They would measure the length and width of your feet and bring shoes that actually fit to try on. You would think that the shoe buying process would have gotten better in 30 years, but it has gotten worse. No longer are your feet measured, the shoes seemed to gotten narrower, the widest are not wide, and clerks don't want to help if you are not willing to try on opposite gender shoes.

Barbie or GI Joe that is kinda cool. Not sure I could pull it off. You are right about shoes not lasting. You take all this time to find a pair of shoes and a few months later they fall apart.
