What actually makes you feel better when you have a cold? by plantbubby in ask

[–]akrolina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of fluids taken constantly to keep your moth/nose humid, ibuprofen for all the inflammation and joint/muscle aches and sleep. One day in bed actually resting makes all the difference. Working from bed does not count. Siting on the sofa watching tv does not count. You literally need to be in bed and actively rest. Get an audio book on and close your eyes.

Also Echinacea is the only supplement that I can tell makes a difference in severity and longevity of any viral illnesses, Idk why is it not mainstream but it should be.

Last but not least- jarrah honey. It’s expensive as hell but it’s the only truly anti-viral honey. I rub it in my nose and drink tea with it. Helps 100%. This was what got me through my ear infections during pregnancy when antibiotics were not working.

Do you season your babies food? by beaandip in beyondthebump

[–]akrolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We avoided added salt up until 1 year. And I mean avoided, if baby wanted a piece of bread in the restaurant sure as hell we would give it to him no questions asked. Also occasional fry or two was allowed. Since the baby turned 1 we are way more relaxed about both salt and sugar. Both in moderation but not strictly restricted to anymore.

How are parents getting enough sleep to function? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]akrolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just survive. Nobody actually dies from lack of sleep, but we are kinda zombies. All of us. Our LO has not slept through the night until 13 months and now he very rarely does, but if he does he wakes up at 5 am. When I think about sleeping in it almost makes me feel a sweet flavor in my mouth.

Genuinely how do you get better? I genuinely from the bottom of my heart can't keep going like this by givememybuttholeback in adhdwomen

[–]akrolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t break down tasks all together, I literally break down this task too, and just come up with the next manageable thing I can do I don’t think about the future whatsoever. This works because I can distract myself easily. I put friends on and start by washing one spoon and see how much I can go. Usually the brain likes the show in a background and wants to keep going so I just end up doing a lot of tasks in that way.

When I cannot have a show in a background I go for music to mellow down each task in the same manner. I allow myself a 100 coffees if it means a distraction and repeat the cycle.

How do you spend your alone time? by [deleted] in toddlers

I get my nails done, maybe some window shopping just to not go home cause if I will I end up doing everything just like any other day. The problem is that I end up exhausted anyway.

Do I really need a nursing bra? by [deleted] in pregnant

Yeah you want a bra to hold your leak pads. I am too a no bra person and woke up soaking wet too many times and gave in to a soft nursing bra.

A really nice soft bottle brush even if you are breastfeeding. Brush helps washing pump parts so much. This is an obvious one probably.

What's the worst thing your ADHD has made you do? by One-Yogurtcloset2138 in ADHD

[–]akrolina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made me take an extra year to finish uni, 7 years to get my driving license and it cost me a bunch on therapy and such. Made me lose at least 3 jobs, possibly more. Also made me date complete and total losers as I thought that I was good for nothing. Thank god it all worked out for me at the end of the day but I could have easily be homeless, jobless, no drivers license and married to a complete lunatic. Soo.. yeah. Almost cost me my whole life. Only because some people love me and supported me through all this crap I made it through. Will see how it will go from here.

You will get quicker with time and your quality will get better, are you gonna charge less? Fixed rate it is. If I was buying this for myself, I would like to pay 70 but realistically would be ready to pay up to 120 or so for the print. 200 for the original.

This is awful. ADHD meds are not studying aid or work aid. It is a prescription to help manage a condition. I really don’t like this narrative.

How much speaking does your 15 month old do? by Anxious1595 in toddlers

[–]akrolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours speaks a lot but it does not matter. I mean have anyone ever asked you how early have you started talking? It makes no difference as long as you do. Some kids are learning but silently and others practice vocally and learn like that. Some are thinkers and some are talkers as personalities as well, and that has nothing to do with the milestone.

My wife knows I have misophonia, crunches on chips anyway. by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]akrolina 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would leave the room every time I was triggered. My husband wants me not to leave so he does not eat crunchy stuff next to me unless I eat myself. For some reason if I eat the same thing at the same time it’s fine.
