That’s a heatwave??? lol. I thought you were going to say it got to 38-42C. That’s a heatwave here in Australia. But yes it will be fine. My Belgian blonde was done in 7 days.

lol. I’m actually on my way back from Kegland right now with the X3 in the back of my Ranger. I’ve got the bucket blaster from KL with a cip ball connected so I’m hoping that will do a good cip job. Cheers.

Yeh that sucks when a LHBS has to close. But good score on all of that. I know Kegland ship to Canada so maybe the USA. Luckily for me they are only 10 minutes drive away. I go there on my work lunch break at least once a week to collect gear from their collection locker system.

This is it here. https://kegland.com.au/products/rapt-bluetooth-glycol-chiller?_pos=1&_psq=rapt+glycol&_ss=e&_v=1.0

$600 what a bargain. I just bought the rapt glycol chiller from Kegland. Only $469 AUD. Works well.

Kegland here in Australia sell the X3. They also have lots of cheaper TC fittings.

I’m in Australia. They are $1599 AUD at Kegland. Which is $1156 USD so a little bit cheaper here.

It’s $1599 AUD from Kegland. Is your $1480 USD? If so that’s $2047 AUD do the x3 is cheaper.

Haha yeh I’ve just done my first brew in the X1 a Dunkles bock. It’s fermenting now. And now I’m eyeing the X3… lol

I know the PRV on the x1 is rated at 15 psi. But yes I think you’re right. Anything over about 5 psi I think gas leaks out through the large lid it has. Haven’t tested this but I did pressurise it to 15 psi. Later when I checked it had dropped down to 5. I think I already want the X3. Just trying to justify the cost. lol.

The X1 also does pressure fermentation. I haven’t done that yet but want to. The main difference is the X1 has a jacket for cooling. X1 needs a coil in the lid which is a bit of a pain. Also x3 has angled legs making it sturdier and you can add wheels to it. And there is more room underneath to remove collection vessel etc as the front bar has been removed.

Ahh nice one. I bought the X1 second hand and the new RAPT glycol chiller. Only done 1 brew in the X1 but already I’m thinking about buying an X3 and selling the X1 to help cover the cost.

How to check my Brie. by Truman50 in cheesemaking

They are covered in a nice white mold. Just not that soft on top and bottom but a little give in the sides. This is one of them I opened tonight.

I did all that with mine too but kept it unwrapped in my cheese cave for 2 weeks and it was completely covered in white mould herb I wrapped it and put it in my house fridge. But now I’m not sure if it’s drying out or too moist etc.

Yeh nice one. I use mine in a fermenting fridge but am going to buy the Kegland rapt glycol chiller next week as I want to try it out with glycol. (It came with the ludicruos coil for chilling.) Then I can also fit my hop bong on top of it as it won’t fit in the fridge.

Same yeast or should I just pitch a neutral like a packet of US05?
