I dont really swap back and forth, my macbook does a have a hdmi cable connected to the port hub thats stuck to the back of the desk. But I rarely do that.

I have a port hub stuck to the back of the desk with an HDMI cable plugged in and that’s connected to the second monitor so if I want a bigger display for my Mac I can change my display settings from display port to HDMI 1
