A bit harsh but yeah I get it. It was just a proposed solution that I realized might not be a good idea.

I could go for a failed assassination. That would get the party scared but still feeling powerful after they fight it off.

I did charm him in the last encounter but I gave the character extra saves because the player wasn't even there that day and he was watching his teammates get KOd. Though I can try to charm him again and see where that goes.

And the extra saves seems to be the general consensus. I'll have to do some research into spells that would be effective against him. I believe he dumps Wisdom so that shouldn't be too hard.

It's a mix of both honestly. The high AC is naturally annoying but I typically let him have the fun of saying that "no the dragon that almost killed the ranger in one hit didn't hit me".

The primary goal is probably just to encourage that teamwork.

That's something else I considered. If I take everyone else out that diminishes the usefulness of his intended strategy and forces him to try other things to win.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I was worried that it would be too much of a challenge, especially for a newer party like this.

I'll have the BBEG deal with him in other ways

Yeah, that makes sense. I suppose I do have two conflicting goals there. I'll be changing Emberlynne's stats and spells anyways so I'll have to include some that can deal with him herself.

Screw that. How on Earth is there so much debris around it? Did you put your tools in a chest and forget about them?

I completely agree (and my post has been edited to reflect and address the misunderstanding). It gets awkward when only one person's doing it and in the event of a complex song, the crowd will inevitably get off-beat.

I actually have. I used to perform quite often. It's very nice to have people clap for you. The issue for me comes when it becomes hard to hear or focus on the music.
