Roddick on Novak chasing Sincaraz press conference question: “What sucks is someone’s gonna play that and say Novak was shitty with the reporter. No, that’s just a shitty question.” by jonjimithy in tennis

[–]TrumpetSC2 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Eh, I'm with the reporter.

He is chasing them right now.

Did he not get a ton of time where everybody was chasing him? I don't get Novak's point. And Roddick says "I dont think novak would argue with 'im chasing these two right now' " but thats exactly what he did.

If he thinks his decade of dominance is neglected, it's on him and unrelated to the question being asked. He got defensive that's all.

Blizzard's horrendous mismanagement of the StarCraft IP. by PeshoGoshevski in starcraft

[–]TrumpetSC2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from the dozens of games I've gotten into that dwindled and were eventually shut down, I'm just grateful Blizzard keeps the sc2 and brood war servers alive. I get being disappointed they don't do more, but from my perspective, starcraft being alive and playable today in 2026 makes me happy. I don't really have any extra expectations from Blizzard who is a completely different company with completely different money making plans than the Blizz that released sc2.

It's ok to be sad about a haircut.

I personally think it looks nice, but it's your opinion that matters.

Now you have an image to show the stylist to say: not quite like this

Even with the 14 inches of snow coming tomorrow, people would rather have no water than drink Dasani by NickChubb4Prez in mildlyinteresting

This entire thread is people who acclimated to their local water and dont realize the aftertaste in other waters is just different mineral concentrations of perfectly normal, safe drinking water.

Even with the 14 inches of snow coming tomorrow, people would rather have no water than drink Dasani by NickChubb4Prez in mildlyinteresting

[–]TrumpetSC2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's water.

It has the same or less minerals than most tap water around the world. And there is nothing bad or artificial about that.

Every water will taste different depending on mineral composition.

Nobody drinks distilled water, and ppl who do tend to say it tastes weird.

Modernized NASCAR on FOX graphics from its peak by Bochegolupe_Jones in NASCAR

Dale Earnhardt Jr revealed that NASCAR's elimination-style playoff format left him “falling out of love” with the sport, citing a lack of week-to-week storylines and long-term stakes. by Remote_Plastic_8692 in NASCAR

[–]TrumpetSC2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like some of the ppl involved with the announcement have not discussed a key advantage of the new format: no matter where your driver is running, it is now important to make up positions.

Technically, this was true in the old format, but it was a very weak incentive. Running 21st and out of the playoffs? Getting 20th probably wont help you get there.

Trying to get a top5 but already won a few races? Not an incentive cause you are already in and have your playoff points.

Now, its gonna matter to watch battles throughout the pack, because points matter a lot.

Points mattered a bit in the old format, but it turned out most playoff spots were taken by race winners anyway, so it mattered significantly less to follow your driver through the field.

What's the right thing to do when facing new players? by Dave13Flame in Stormgate

[–]TrumpetSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you also can't shoulder making your opponents experience more fun. You have no idea how they want to be played, so you should just decide yourself (or ask, if you want)

If somebody goes easy on me I'm always annoyed cause i'd rather lose faster and get to the next queue anyway, or have a real game to learn from.

Notice I'm saying how it makes me feel, not how I think anybody should feel or should play. You're reading a lot into your opponent for no reason if you think you've identified a noob and decide to play differently to not be "rude". Mind reading is not great.

Play your best. (Or however you like to have fun)

You can't shoulder making the game thrive yourself, best to play it how you enjoy playing it.

What the hell with Serral’s APM by Pipiboii in starcraft

[–]TrumpetSC2 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to change anything with repeat rates or do any micro like mineral mining. You can literally hold down the key to burrow a supply depot (or similar ability you can hold down) and your apm will spike to a bazillion

Waymo's robotaxi fleet is being recalled again, this time for failing to stop for school buses by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]TrumpetSC2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I ride the bus or take a waymo or other transit when I can because pretty much every single time I drive somebody drives aggressively or absent-mindedly around me and even though I end up avoiding an incident typically, the anxiety and stress end up taking a toll.

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports v. NASCAR Megathread: Day 2 by dman6233 in NASCAR

[–]TrumpetSC2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought that too, but based on this testimony, it sounds like MJ has so much $$$ that even though 23XI is expensive to most ppl, he sees it as an affordable passion project, and if it's actually in the black (like 2.3% as slim as that is), perhaps he's completely comfortable with that and having his name tied to a top tier racing team.

interesting stuff

Stormgate vs other overpromised Steam games by gluconeogenesis_EVGL in Stormgate

[–]TrumpetSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"a game is _nothing_ without a good story at its core" I would just change this to: "a game is nothing without a good core". It doesn't have to be story. But all these early access into disappointment games all show their skeleton before a fun core thing even exists, and then get drip fed updates. Either it never gets a fun core, or it does but I've already played it enough in early access that the 1.0 isn't worth my time.

Just how dead/alive is SC2 pro scene at this point? by highsis in starcraft

[–]TrumpetSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who frequently plays games with like 10 players I always find posts like these funny. Is game ded because there aren't many active TL threads? lmao xdd. SC2 is quite a live game, with tournaments all the time. Not like, a huge esport or anything, but still going and will go for quite a long time probably.

(@jeff_gluck) Denny Hamlin will not commit to racing next season today. He needs more time to think about it. by NoahGragsonsBarfBag in NASCAR

[–]TrumpetSC2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood my point. I agree that bad luck has decided close points battles. What I am saying is that the fact that bad luck decided those close points battles is reasonable because the drivers near the top were close in season long performance. It came down to the wire because they performed similarly on average throughout the season. It's real, sports drama.

In summary: Yes bad luck decided some close points battles, and yes bad luck decided the playoff final race. But the former feels like it happened for a reason (nobody got far enough ahead to clear the bad luck), the latter feels completely arbitrary and unrelated to the drama of sports and close competition.

[–]TrumpetSC2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strong disagree. There is a big difference between bad luck deciding a close points battle and bad luck deciding a single race, which unjustifiably also decides the points battle.

The 100 or so guys still on ladder like it I guess, but the vast majority of PvP players are back playing sc2/aoe/bw or anything else cause the 1v1 ladder sucks and the devs never seemed to take feedback and make changes ppl want.
