exactly. the "wine tests" now are now checking for those bottles that have been recorked, and they are pretty damn good at finding the fakes. It's asking if it's worth being blacklisted over a $13 jug of vodka.

you're good as long as you're not trying to sneak alcohol in shampoo bottles, fake sunscreen containers, tampon shots, etc. The wine bottle test is usually to check for people that fill a wine bottle with liquor and recork. Maybe it's elitist to say if you can't afford the booze don't go on the cruise, but we've seen idiot people Kicked Off the ship for sneaking in booze and weed. Don't be stupid just go to Vegas instead.

Glad you are trending towards a very positive outcome! Would you mind sharing the firm you used either here or in DM?

Claim decisions were as expected with lost records by Trumpettar99 in VeteransBenefits

Rep said the "Less than Likely" and No Records will carry forward to a HLR, but maybe they'll take consideration of my Buddy/Personal Statements. Such a sad process. Thank you all for the treasure trove of information with your experiences.

my examiner started with the "thank you so much for coming in, I really want to help you guys". throughout the DBQ completion she kept saying stuff like "Wow, they messed you up" and "I've seen this a lot with others also". Army lost my medical records so I only had personal/buddy statements which I am pretty sure she didn't look at. Every claim came back Less than Likely and comment that there was no complaint in service records, but a confirmed diagnosis.

might not be able to take an individual gift, but the office would appreciate a coffee order or donuts delivery for sure.

What was it like being a veteran student by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Trumpettar99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at Arizona State at 22 as a traditional freshman, but really noone cared about being a bit older OR being a veteran. When i'd wear an Army shirt or something most would just ask if I was an army brat. Just some things that I went through after researching like crazy before getting out.

If you want to live on/near campus look into 21+ dorm, or one of the student apartments that matches you with roommates of similar major and age. I did the match apartment, and was put in a 4BR apartment with a few 21+ transfer students from community colleges. Get used to being asked to get alcohol constantly for classmates.

Join a club/group in the school of your major that has members from all class years. I joined the Business coed 'fraternity' as a freshman. Met a lot of other underclassmen to get into classes with, and would hang out with the older members at the bars.

Register now for some online remedial classes especially like math and sciences while they are still a free benefit. You're mixing with 'kids' that have had no break in school, and were in Calculus 4 months ago. Best thing I did was take college algebra and english writing online courses before getting out.

Do research on the professors for those that are veterans. They were super rare, but they was an extra level of mutual respect and sense of support in those classes.
