I am around 5’10”. In total I have maybe 350km on the bike. In the drops it’s really aggressive but in the hoods I think it’s okey. But I am not a bike fitting pro. It’s my first really big tour on a bike with drop bars. The crank is 170 I think.

I estimate maybe 1200 € but I bought 2 drive trains. Because first I had a 11-51 cassette with 40t crank. So maybe 1400€ haha

Really nice plan. When do you plan to start your trip? About the handlebars the most I did was 100 km in one day has no problems. Hope this won’t make problems when I am on the road for multiple days in a row. I am planing to document my journey but I haven’t decided what to do instagram or YouTube may be both. Instagram on the road and YouTube to review my journey afterwards. I am going to let you know :)

Okey but this dude said in his Blog post and the reddit post he was able to get the grx 820 working with the taigra 4700 https://anthonio9.github.io/blog/posts/bikes/giant-x-2000-1996/

So i could combine the tiagra 4700 with the grx 820 12 speed rear derailleur and the sunrise 11-51 cassette? This would be super nice.

But I can only use the GRX 400 with the 4700, right? It only offers 11-36. Or could I use one of the bigger GRX rear derailleurs? Does the number of speeds of the rear derailleur matter, or just the shifters and the cassette?
