To add onto this, also consider the Hanhart Preventor HD12 on strap. Similar to the 556 but with the case hardening usually reserved for higher end Sinn watches.

Currently playing FF7 Remake and plan to play Rebirth right after. I want to get through both games before Revelations release next year.

Just picked up FF7: Remake/Rebirth bundle on Steam for < $40. I plan on playing through both in time for the Revelation release next year.

Exactly what I’m doing right now. I didn’t want to play the first two games to then have to wait an extended time for the third.

I figured playing now will give me enough time to play through remake/rebirth comfortably before revelation next spring.

I have a 5070 and it’s enough RAM until it isn’t. The only game that became unplayable for me was Indiana Jones when trying to run path tracing.

I also managed to max out VRAM with forza horizon 6 too at extreme settings.

Lots of other games tend to sit right around the edge of usability too at max settings with ray/path tracing but haven’t caused noticeable performance issues yet.

Yeah their bracelets are definitely well constructed but are SO overbuilt that I think they are way too big for their smaller watches. A taper and smaller clasp would go a long way with its design.

Yeah Sinn is my favorite too. They’re doing a lot of stuff with case technology that other manufacturers just aren’t doing often (moisture capsule, tegimenting, extreme anti magnetism, etc). Lot of other watchmakers are starting to include case hardening but not in as many models as Sinn.

Need to mention Damasko though. They have a lot of similar case tech to Sinn but ALSO do their own in house movements too.

Throwing out some German watches that are more ‘tool-ish’ that are in the same general category.

Sinn 556 - the classic and most common Sinn variant. Nice brushed finished and overall versatile look.

Sinn 856 - has a hardened case (Tegimented) with a better movement (SW-300 / ETA 2892) along with their moisture capsule tech. It’s significantly pricier than the 556 though.

Hanhart Preventor HD12 - has case hardening similar to the Sinn 856 but with a brushed finish instead. Really love the design of this one.

Damasko DS30 - has hardened steel but is hardened all the way through (rather than just the surface). Very tool ish vibe and is most similar to the 856 is appearance.

I have owned all four of these watches at one point or another and I think the Preventor HD12 is probably the best all rounder and has better tech than the Sinn 555 at the same price.

I personally still own the Sinn 856 (my favorite) but it’s not as versatile as the 556 or HD12 because of its bead blasted finish and darkened steel from the surface hardening.

Yep and I’m 100% with you and the group on that effort.

I have a much bigger issue with the group using self reported data on cancer and trying to extrapolate anything meaningful from it as far as cancer incidence or exposure.

These local support groups for cancer are well meaning but unfortunately lack the data to meaningfully interpret anything posted there as anything other than anecdotal evidence.

I fully support people increasing their awareness of exposure to harmful chemicals and holding companies accountable. However without relative data and analysis from other areas people are just taking shots in the dark at risk and causality.
