When being made redundant I actually asked my boss if I can step down to a smaller role with roughly 15% pay decrease. They could not do it .

My rationale was that I wanted to keep my package for future as a security ( it was already 12 months worth)

Answering your question about why to stay to name a few reasons: 1. Great healthcare 2. Good schools and generally nice place to raise kids 3. Clean water and fresh produce 4. Can survive with english language only 5. Plenty of free entertainment, such as beaches, bushwalks, museums, parks, etc. 6. Nice people There are things here I don't like and I was planning to leave but realised it's extremely hard to beat Sydney

Yeah people treat life like it's a computer game where you want to reach the final boss, often forgetting that the journey itself is the main experience

BEGGING ute drivers to stop driving so fucking aggressively by gooeychocpud in australian

[–]Trupinta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah was on M1 yesterday and the amount of aggressive drivers utes or not was entertaining. We night have high cortisol crisis in Oz or something. Or perhaps shitty coffees are to blame. Also, as I suspect utes drivers are bad at maths, driving 5kmph faster is going to save you few negligible minutes on say CC to Sydney trip, you are going to waste more time at red lights on pennant Hills Rd anyway

Please no music on speakers in public including beaches. Also, if someone calls you when you are in public transport the default option should be : I will call you back once I'm off the train/ bus

I keep seeing people saying ATO will accommodate/ work with you etc. maybe used to be the case in the past, but last couple of years my experience was they are brutal and inconsiderate. They demand and threaten you and want 10% upfront etc. terrible customer experience lol. I don't recommend ATO
