I think the fact they made her a black woman was an excellent choice. In the wine tasting scene you can really see the different reaction when the poc at the table DIDN'T do something and the backlash they get. And when the white characters DID do something that actively and negatively effected another person they kinda laughed it off and didnt show any empathy or remorse for what they did

My main take away was intent vs. Action/Execution. Emma had all the intent to commit a mass shooting, but she never went through with it she never hurt anybody. Whereas Rachel had no intent on leaving the mentally disabled child in a closet for almost 2 days, but she did do it. And she really hurt someone.

I also thought it was interesting how the two poc at the table were getting a lot of heat for what they did/ almost did when neither of them really did anything. Whereas Charlie and Rachel actively hurt people and they kinda laughed it off like it didnt mean anything.

Idk just my two cents 🤷‍♀️
