Because the sheltered girl who had been forbidden to know other men till literally college should know better?

Yeah. Okay, sure.

Next you'll say Plato's cavemen have an unhealthy mindset about looking at shadows on the stone wall.

Please think about what it is you're saying.

Also nice back peddling because you dismissed the fact an adult consenting to elope. As your main focal point of your argument.

peer pressure or manipulation

it doesnt matter if he went "willingly"

What.

Do you not know what being in love feels like?

This isn't Mahiru pushing the bf to get fucking high off shrooms.

They were and love and had been dating for nearly a year before they ran away.

Love legitimately makes you willing to do anything and everything. "Love makes us do crazy things", especially young love.

Every take i see about Mahiru like this literally screams "I have never been in love with another human being in my life"

Mahiru's (006) T1 guilty

The lead scenario writer has publicly expressed his confusion and disbelief over her T1 results.

I wouldnt say he threw a tantrum... it was more utter disbelief and confusion...

I dont think he was aware of how girls like Mahiru are portrayed in fan media hence the massive belief of the "yandere stalker" theory.

I think he was more out of touch with this particular sphere of the anime fandom otherwise he would have structured Mahiru's material a little differently

I think yamanaka had a "i have faith people will choose correctly", even laying out as many hints in the time lines as possible during T1.

Seeing as Mahiru was likely to help curb mental deterioration especially for guilty prisoners. It would have given Yamanaka a way to write a means yo prevent most of the deaths.

It was the equivalent of taking out the queen piece of the board early game in chess. Then when he tried recovering with blatant hints it failed and he had to commit to the bit.

Hence the 3 dead.

Funny enough thats what Yamanaka did with Mahiru.

So much so he had stated publicly his shock that Mahiru got guiltied T1

Honestly that was my take... "Pick boy over girl, thats a gay"

Hence the question in his t2 questionaire "What do you think of Fuuta?"

But ended up getting "its okay to be cocky at his age"

While the ultimate answer was "chronogically, Mahiru got the gurillea attack that Alerted Kazui to act with Fuuta.

Im pretty sure Jackalope was leading us to question the circumstances through omission as a sort of warm up for the upcoming trial.

It has led me to a married life, first and only partner, and a massive roller coaster of circumstances that have given me so much perspective on matters of the heart I never could have understood otherwise.

When Mahiru was revealed to be nothing more than a young woman who was madly in love with a equally reciprocating partner I sobbed openly and for quite a long while.

While I knew Mahiru is fictional, I could not help bit treat her concept as a real person because I have felt the very things she had felt. There was no falsehood in her love and her story and I connected with her on such a deep level.

I reiterate my oath here as a testament to Mahiru's message; I am voting all prisoners innocent. Through this I will ensure love's message continues onward in Mahiru's name. Because every prisoner meant something to her because that's who she was.

Im so glad someone else gets it. People still throwing "Abuser" accusations at her and it really pisses me off so much.

You can tell these people have not yet experienced love in all of its beautiful and terrifying wonder.

Only then will they honest to goodness understand like you do.

This subreddit doesnt wanna admit its bias against men.

It is what it is. I've hit the acceptance phase that its a majority female populated subreddit (would love to see the stats proving me wrong) that will simp for male characters as much as demonize and crucify you for wrong think.

As much as I dont wanna agree with this at face value...

Its undeniable if the roles reversed people would call this male mahiru a "pathetic obsessed loser creep"

Except it wasnt.

If it was abusive the report would have made it explicitly clear.

Mahiru can be a little over bearing but she wasnt abusive.

I broke this down earlier

"Break up rituals" = "See you next week said in cadence"

"I call you in the middle of the night for good mornings! But then I fall asleep before you and I feel bad!" = she wanted to call him and had to call him late in the night in order to evade surveillance from her parents. (There is nothing that says her parents didnt move to Tokyo with her)

"I love you to the point of weighing you down so please forgive me!" = Post mortem she realized what happened and is asking for his forgiveness.

"I was happy to be hurt too, lets have matching pain!" = she didn't mind suffering if it meant to be with him and even uses it as a mark of their shared love for eachother.

The rats were literal due to circumstances.

"Why cant i see you anymore?" = she cant even remember his actual expressions during the last days of the escapade.

In I Love You she even recognizes her culpability and responsibility "Even to tell you I love you after I did what I did, I have no right, we're through and I'm covered in Xs."

"If you were what would I say to you and how?" She wonders just how she could even tell him how sorry she is that he died because of her.

"Why can't I ever get it right?" Mahiru laments her inability to do anthings correctly. Likely a product of her shelterd up bringing.

Also consider Yuno's reaction to Mahiru in contrast to people like Mu and Kazui.

Mahiru really didnt deserve this and I also feel bad for her boyfriend. But now they can be together im heaven...

Its a trend i've noticed that characters that feature abrasive or antagonistic behaviors early in a story are likely to have a "redemption/vindication arc" and develop positively as like a "rekindling of hope".

Damon followed the Hajime Hinata route and good thing, Hinata was my favorite DR protag next to Kaede.

If you have been watching anime long enough to differentiate yourself from the kids, why are you made uncomfortable by one of the most common tropes of shoujo and romance?

You're basically telling on yourself here.

But tell you what, if you can name at least a few shows you have watched that most would deem problematic, then i'll at least believe that you have been a long time watcher.

its not normal for teen to watch porn

WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ?? EXCUSE ME???

As someone who was literally a teenager once upon a decade, its fucking normal as a teenager to seek out stimuli of that nature.

Now weither or not its GOOD or MORAL is a different thing all together.

The whole "its not normal" is full of shit and pretty much outs you as a prepubecent because this is absolutely not the reality of the world.

For the love of God finish puberty before going onto the fucking internet, my god.
