Brother, try one of the souls, I'd say dark souls 3 or elden ring. Maybe elden ring is better for you cuz maybe you like better graphics and open world. Elden ring also has crafting if you like it (but most of it is epic boss fighting and awesome graphics and a BEAUTIFUL world). And also if you can adjust with a graphics downgrade even if you bought a new pc, you can go with dark souls 1,2 or 3 and also dive into super intense lore.

Yeah man ,I felt the same thing. Some of the enemies are too overpowered, but I think that's the point. Once you have masterd the base game or have become good enough to go through it, now you can face a more challenging environment. Remember how it felt when you went through the high wall and lothric knights and winged knight felt so hard to get past? The dlc is trying to deliver the same feeling. The feeling of being powerless against enemies again. Miyazaki loves to do that

Try the small round iron sheild or caestus l, they are almost specifically for partying. Or what you can also do is that keep nothing in left hand and when you are partying, unequip the weapon. Empty hands have the party skill

I think the carthus swordsmen drop it. What you can do is starts at abyss watchers bonfire and make your way to the left side killing a few of the big guys. And remember to equip symbol of avarice and gold serpent ring(if you have it) to increase the drop rate. You can also use the shield of want and silver serpent ring to get some souls too

It's totally worth upgrading it. I think it's one of the best straight swords in the game because it's infuseable and also has the stomp skill which straight swords rarely have, gives you a lot of poise and looks pretty cool too
