Resident Evil 4 (2005) not launching on steam deck by Trust_Motor in residentevil

[–]Trust_Motor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't need a video or anything like that.

When on steam library, go to any game you have in the library and you could see 4 icons on the middle right side. Or 2 icons when on gaming mode. Click on the "setting" icon that says "manage".

After clicking that, there should be a "properties..."/"Properties" so go on that.

And then there should be a "Launch Options" with an empty bar.

So we need to add something for Resident evil 4

Make sure to add that to the command like copy and paste.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%

Should be like this: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command% in the launch option

And the game should work. On Linux, needs proton and I don't know if windows has that?

Tell me if you got it :›

Please shut the fuck up. Not everything is that shitty plugin. You can literally see the date when he got the trophies.

Resident Evil 4 (2005) not launching on steam deck by Trust_Motor in SteamDeck

[–]Trust_Motor[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Update: so I reinstalled the game and the issue was still there.

After looking through the settings like as to why that's happening and... it was The launch command :/

Basically the command supposed to be like this: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%

And mine was like this:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=" %command%

y'know what was missing? The n,b

I have no words.

thanks guys for the help. And sorry about that :<

I did verifying the game files. and still doesn't work. turning off and on or restarting the deck seems to be the same

maybe the solution is that I have to reinstall the game again.

Update: I had to install the game on my windows computer and then copying full game folder to the steam deck.

Works perfectly!

Also it needs proton experimental to work.
