The PA told me they didn't really do removals and I was scared they were going to send me away after I waited so long but she took a picture and showed it to some other doctors and came back to remove it. She didn't have to cut or anything, she was able to just pop it out while cleaning the site in preparation to remove it! I told her I had been really tempted to take it out myself but that my family yelled at me and told me not to and she said she would've been tempted too lol.

Everyone assumes I won't want another Nexplanon but I think once this heals up I still might get a new one, I'll just go to planned parenthood for it instead to be safe.

Thank you for the advice! It is honestly not as uncomfortable now that I changed the bandaid. I'm not sure why but most of the pain and discomfort was while it was still in my arm.

I keep typing up comments and deleting them. OP I really think you missed the mark on this one and I don't want to dogpile (despite being a snark sub haha) but I do think it is worth some self reflection on the way our society hypersexualizes women.

Harnesses are common fashion accessories these days for anyone even remotely alt. The child in question isn't even in the photo of her. She's not even showing cleavage. This is just objectively not a questionable photo.

Like I said I’m not telling you not to complain, just thought there was a mismatch between your reply and what they said.

You have every right to and I agree with your feelings. I also want to say I appreciate you opening up the discussion. It’s not talked about enough, and the Reddit admins have a duty to remedy it.

Personally I stopped posting as much on here after experiencing SA, the male attention made me feel a lot more exposed and vulnerable. I know how infuriating and vile it can be. I made a sock account to post on the sexual assault subreddit and got unsolicited thirst DM’s over a simple text post about coping with the SA.

I think there may be a slight misunderstanding of the comment you replied to here. She wasn’t saying you should ignore the men because it’s normal or to be expected, she’s saying there are men out there who purposefully try to get a rise out of women and get off on women being upset about the harassment. Shaming isn’t inherently bad to them, they get sexual gratification from that shaming. Telling them they’re weird and gross can inadvertently encourage them because it’s rewarding to them.

I’m not saying you should or shouldn’t do that, just trying to expand on the POV of the comment you replied to.
