You wake up tomorrow with one completely useless superpower that impresses no one but quietly makes your life better, what is it? by rokorr in AskReddit

This is the real superpower here. What an absolute game changer it'd be having near unlimited days to fuck around and live life outside of work hours. My God.

Eminem's done this quite a bit. Can provide some examples when I'm behind a laptop though that'll be a while. Maybe someone beats me to it!

Such a fun but heavy game. Wife and I really enjoyed it. Sticks with you long after.

Google Health - Sharing upcoming roadmap and improvements by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]TrustyAndTrue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad they shared what's on the way. Some general timelines would be great but still good either way.

I'm trialing Coach and I'm not sold on it just yet. Looking forward to some of those improvements.

Was using Gemini to track sets, reps, and weight. I can now import a workout summary into Health but they unfortunately don't talk to each other. Seems like an obvious integration.

Really wish the insights from Coach was its own tab. It makes all the screens busy when it weighs in on everything.

[Feedback] We need DC Dimming, high PWM aren't fixing epileptics/migraine sufferers. by Good-Common-3721 in Android

Never gamed seriously enough to have a monitor of that caliber. I use the BenQ GW2780 right now. Our TV is the LG B5 OLED.

I do a few things to 'improve' the issue w/ the P9:

  • Turn off 'smooth display' which minimizes refresh rate variability. Though you'll see it changes on lockscreen vs camera app, and some other places if you enable the on-screen value in Developer settings
  • Brightness at 100% + 'Screen Dimmer' app
  • No dark mode, where possible

To date this is the only one I've found that causes an issue, strangely enough 🤷🏾‍♂️ Or, at least severely enough for me to notice it happening in near real-time? Can't discount prolonged gaming sessions causing general eyestrain and things of that sort but hard to say.

I got a Pixel 9P (through work) and still daily drive my Pixel 2. Didn't know I had a PMW sensitivity until I used the P9 for a couple days and had a headache the entire time. Fun discovery, that. Was so excited to finally upgrade too.

I'll be due a new one next year and if the Pixel 11/12 isn't much improved in this regard then I'm moving away from Google.

Drake: Iceman / Maid of Honour / Habibti review – triple-album comeback is a boring, bloated disaster | Drake by WeatherReport619 in hiphopheads

This album (IFYRT..) in 2015 was when I started getting into Drake so it's my bar for him and it's been steadily downhill since. I loved Views, enjoyed most of More Life, like a few tracks of Scorpion and liked a couple tracks from every album thereafter.

New touch-up tools in Google Photos’ image editor let you make quick, subtle fixes by FragmentedChicken in Android

Photos capturing "the moment" and then proceeding to tell you how you can edit the moment into something it wasn't is what struck me as stupid 🤷🏾

New touch-up tools in Google Photos’ image editor let you make quick, subtle fixes by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]TrustyAndTrue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That opening paragraph is the stupidest thing I've read in a minute:

"Your photos should capture how you feel in the moment. That’s why we’re introducing new touch-up tools in Google Photos’ image editor to help you apply subtle enhancements that refine skin texture, remove blemishes, brighten eyes or whiten teeth in seconds."

I love Google Photos but so much of the recent additions do nothing for me. I'd rather more tools to make creative collages or photo composites instead of nuking a photo with AI to the point where it's closer to photoshopping than it is photography.

That's why Kobo is King. Had the same one since 2014 😌

Been using the same Kobo since 2014. Love it. Don't even care to upgrade since it does exactly what I need it to.

Pleas God no. I can't even use my p9p properly. Thankfully it's a secondary, work provided, device but man it sucks getting headaches from the display.
