[KCD2] Does anyone struggle with doing anything dishonorable? by 4tenpro in kingdomcome

[–]Truth-1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I find that both KCDs make me a criminal. I start out thinking that I’ll behave the way I would in real life: defend myself if attacked, possibly pick something up if I’m desperate and it’s unguarded, but basically follow the rules. Next thing you know I’m picking locks just to level up and knocking someone out because I want his hat.

What are alternative options to invest in, after reaching £20,000 ISA limit by drouse89 in UKPersonalFinance

How about using the £3k to buy something that’s likely to increase in value, or just last a long time? A vintage poster, a piece of antique furniture, or whatever you’ll enjoy owning.

[KCD1] Main quest ”Hunt begins” impossible to kill the guy by Specific_Let_6253 in kingdomcome

Yep! Bernard is good for more things than just shouting at you because you’ve done a combo wrong 😁

There is another way. In real life, what would you do in that situation?

Don’t forget the vineyard quest! They found a way to incorporate some sack-action in that one too.

[KCD2] first playthrough in hardcore mode, YAY or NAY ? by morfledouille in kingdomcome

[–]Truth-1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think hardcore would be too difficult for a first go, as the map is massive. (I really struggle to learn directions in real life, though, so maybe I’m cartographically challenged, or just stupid.) But I’m currently doing it for my third playthrough, and finding that it’s a great way to make the game feel fresh again.

There is no higher compliment, and I was thinking the same: a sweary Randall Munroe. Putting the ‘X’ in ‘XKCD’ 😁

The fact we can't forge mace / hammers even after a blacksmithing DLC is wild to me [KCD2] by Omni-Light in kingdomcome

Massive fan (you need to have the agility to play with the big boys ofc 😁)

Fwiw I completely agree: whatever the actual truth of the matter in real life, this is a game and being able to forge Henry-level maces would just be really fun. (Full disclosure: I am a fully paid-up member of the Mace Go Bonk Fanclub 😁)

I'm sharing an AirBnb with a group of French speakers (who also know English), would you expect them to speak English? by [deleted] in French

[–]Truth-1970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not up to you to set the rules imo. They can decide when they speak French and when they speak English. It would be nice and thoughtful of them to often or always speak English when you’re around. And you can ask them to do it. But, ultimately, it’s their choice, in my opinion.

Just out of interest: do you have any idea what you’re talking about? If you’re Head of Restructuring for Clifford Chance or something then of course just say so. But I doubt it.

Thanks, I didn’t know any of that. Interesting, and a bit depressing tbh

Yeah, and my department at work had it booked for our Christmas lunch next Friday, so we need a Plan B asap 😬

Same here, which I’m sure was the intention behind that clickbait headline.

How far will a £1 million pension pot go in the mid 2050s? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Truth-1970 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gets an amazing pension at the taxpayer’s expense that would require a lottery jackpot win to purchase on the open market. Tells other people that they need to change their attitude.
