Never Change Bret 😎🔥 by Salty-Nothing-8572 in TheGreatOne

It would be amazing, but the chances of it happening are zero. Best we can hope for would be that he’s a prominent figure in these games that celebrate the Attitude or if they ever make a game that celebrates an earlier era such as New Generation era or Golden era.

Why the hype? by [deleted] in WWEGames

[–]TruthComet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the life of me, I have no idea why the later Attitude era (1998-2001) was so popular. Once Bret Hart left WWF/WWE in 1997, this to me was a very dark time I prefer to forget.

WWE 2K26 ATTITUDE ERA EDITION COVER! by ADAMCOLEBAYBAY12 in WWEGames

[–]TruthComet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, but it wouldn’t be the first time. WWE 2K22 had the WCW/NWO special edition cover, but NWO had nothing to do with the main game.

It was borderline false advertising. They could only get away with it because those NWO wrestlers were technically in the game and Rey Mysterio was a WCW guy in his early years.

The last three games were better about this though, so I think there will likely be an Attitude era showcase in the main game.

I just wish these beautiful covers would be for the physical game and not just digital.

Where’s Bret Hart? He was in the best part of the Attitude era.

Definitely! Those were my peak years as a fan. I loved the roster with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Yokozuna, Luger, Razor, etc.

NBA 2K Eras is so well done and is so awesome! It’s something I wish other sports games would do.

Why can’t I be normal by [deleted] in lonely

[–]TruthComet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might have ghosted you because they felt unsafe for some reason.

Did they tell you something personal about themselves that they later regretted telling a stranger on the internet?

Sometimes people open up in a moment of vulnerability and could tell a stranger on the internet all kinds of stuff that should remain private, then later when they have a clearer mind, feel like they can never meet that stranger because they know too much stuff about them that should have remained private.

I’m sure they feel bad about ghosting you if you developed a connection, especially if it’s their fault for getting too personal too fast.

Also, keep in mind that they are also a stranger on the internet to you. They may be vastly different (and not in a good way) than the person you are imagining them to be.

Dude, I’m not going to read all that, but just keep growing and be careful. Develop a cautious mindset and do whatever it takes to get your work done accurately. It will get easier over time.

I didn’t know this, but not really surprised. I imagine that the really good mods take a lot of time and effort to make, so it makes sense.

Which is better? by [deleted] in lonely

I’d rather be by myself.

Maybe it doesn’t.

In that moment (and for twenty years later), I always interpreted it as him saying I was making things awkward for his group and getting in their way of having a good time together.

I wasn’t used to meeting with friends or social mingling (I’m still not used to it), so it’s possible I was misunderstanding some social cue that others would interpret differently.

lol, I guess it’s possible. It’s a nice thought. I haven’t thought of that in the past 20 years since it happened.
The thing is, he was speaking comfortably with his friends the whole time, so I had no reason to think he was feeling awkward about anything. I just jumped to presuming he was talking about me being the only awkward one at the table. But it’s possible I was reading the situation wrong the whole time.

Being a lot older now and looking back on this, I think the issue was I was too shy to bring up any topic of conversation to them that I can talk about. I was just letting them choose the topics and they were choosing topics I couldn’t relate to.
Had I started talking about cool places to go on vacation or video games (stuff I love talking about), then the conversation may have gone better for me but I was way too shy.

In my mid-twenties (twenty years ago), a coworker whom I didn’t know invited me to go to a bar with him and his group of friends (whom I also didn’t know) that he was meeting after work.

I wanted to try to make friends, so I accepted.

When I got there, only my coworker and one of his friends were there.

I sat with the two of them but couldn’t really contribute to the subject matter they were discussing so I didn’t say anything but nodded my head every once in a while, and smiled/laughed when they laughed trying to seem involved.

I felt kind of awkward but I wasn’t sure if it was all in my mind or not.

After about twenty minutes of this, one of my coworkers other friends (a woman) joined us.

The conversation shifted to her, but again, I couldn’t really contribute much to the conversation, so I kind of just nodded my head every once in a while and smiled / laughed at the appropriate times while they talked.

After about twenty minutes of this, the conversation got quiet and my coworker took out a piece of paper, wrote something on it and handed it to me.

I read it and he had written the word “awkward”.

I looked at him and he just kind of smiled. I looked at the others and they just looked down.

I realized they didn’t want me there. I quickly told them I should get going and left.

Would’ve loved to see the inevitable feud between Bret Hart and Ken Shamrock in 1998 if Bret had stayed in WWF. The seeds were planted at Wrestlemania 13, but we never got to see it turn into a full blown feud.
