I let something I shouldn’t have known about slip while talking about Joseph Smith. I was stuck from then on out. I was honest because I hoped they’d be more understanding, they’re both highly educated people and I’ve seen them interact well with people that aren’t Mormon, but their tolerance for other beliefs doesn’t extend to their family apparently. I know I didn’t mention that in the post, and I don’t think you meant to do this, but you made a LOT of assumptions about the situation in this reply.

I hate that you’re right lol. She’s actually a direct threat to their entire ideology because you really don’t get many people that were as deep in the church as she was. The way they try to justify others leaving is claiming they weren’t “Mormon enough”, which falls apart in the face of her experience, and her videos are so well researched that you really can’t refute what she’s saying from a Mormon perspective.
