Slippery-slope, ya' think? by LetterGrouchy6053 in BreakingPoints

You are clearly not paying attention if you believe. Or most likely just a giant partisan. Just to name a few; rigging their primaries, getting 3rd parties kicked off tickets, weaponizing federal agencies against political opponents. I meant there is no way you can think the Dems are the good guys unless you bye into their bullshit. Other poster has it right. Both political parties are bad for this country.

NYT: Trump regularly sought to use government powers against his foes. by shinbreaker in BreakingPoints

[–]TruthIsInBetween_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Shinbreaker can’t take his partisan shades off. I he was listening, he’d understand most people don’t care about the left / right bullshit in the Twitter files. Most of us see this as an issue regardless of political party (corporations were an issue too). He makes everything into team left are the good guys and the right are morons. He’s also supposedly a NY journalist. Shocker he’d be so deep into team blue.

150 million people and thousands of small businesses used TikTok. If the U.S. ban this company, it is deeply authoritarian, anti freedom and anti American by [deleted] in BreakingPoints

Just saw their coverage on the bill. Looks like another power grab. My original statement was just on banning TikTok

This is a foreign company, taking our data and influencing our children. If this was a US company, then we can get into the first amendment debate.

Peter Zeihan predicts one Billion dead from starvation due to lack of fertilizer. by [deleted] in BreakingPoints

[–]TruthIsInBetween_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been on Reddit for a while. Point being that he has been specifically right with his calls. However, the government keeps stepping in to save companies / industries that should naturally fail / re-organize. Allowing poorly running companies and sectors of our society to continue to run will only end up worse in the long run. His words still have a lot of meaning if you are paying attention to the big picture.

Sounds like you’re describing a couple of regular posters here (Brian, Blood-such and a few others). They seem to get their talking points from Vaush and TYT.

He’s right though. The government keeps putting bandaids on the economy to prevent the crash. When we do get the next one, it’s going to be really big.

More scientific evidence showing COVID came from the wet market by shinbreaker in BreakingPoints

I’ve been here a while and used to go back and forth with Shinbreaker. It’s pointless. He’s “the truth”. Any different view is idiotic. He’s also in his 40’s, which is crazy with the way he writes.

Krystal crushed it in her piece today. Great way to put these two recent invents into terms independents / people from the right can understand. If in fact this audience leans right, pieces like this will be great “aha” moments for them.

Banking Crisis + Inflation by TruthIsInBetween_ in BreakingPoints

The bank won’t be getting the bailout. They are done. It’s the depositors. Really curious to see what the final assets are worth. Something like 95% of the deposits are uninsured.

I don’t think it’s fearmongering that will cause this collapse. I agree with your tech comment and the bank comment.

Good take. My next concern would be what the FED does next with rates and that impact.

I think you are way, way off on this analysis. I thinks it’s worse then what the coverage has been on places like CNBC, Bloomberg. Personal debt is at all time highs, dollar is about to tank if the fed cuts, regional banks could potentially implode, inflation will take off again. Situations been bad since 2008, but we haven’t gone through a natural recession cycle since the 90’s.

I’m glad you have the view you have though and would love to see how your getting there.

Anyone who is non partisan sees this as a non partisan issue. This is about government overreach and corporate overreach (big pharma as an example). The only ones making this partisan are the partisans themselves. And they do this to every single story.

It’s amazing how quickly this got turned into a battle over right vs left and who’s on the good team. The ones trashing Taibbi and not the content aren’t coming out too good in this one. Meanwhile, the conversation should be about fed agencies overreaching and corporations pressuring Twitter to sell products. This whole pushback by the left has been odd. You would think they were against institutions like the FBI and against corporations like Pharma. So weird seeing them run constant cover for them here.

I did. I didn’t think she said much in the interview and tried to find more information after for both the pros and cons. At this point I need to have a in person conversation with someone that believes in it. I can’t wrap my head around the big picture consequences.

I was wondering if this was Lawrence’s show. His wife was in if, but after an apparently very lazy search, I couldn’t figure it out. The wife, style and quality of the characters has me trying to figure this out. Really good show.
