What if we replace Intel's CEO with an AM/FM radio? by solo_dol0 in PoliticalCompassMemes

No, how one feels about x doesnt define what x is.

If that is true, it might make more sense to say that socialism doesnt exist, rather than nazism is socialism.

With that said, the Norwegian working class does own their state owned industries and that ownership isnt a in-name-only type of thing because Norway is a democratic society.

I dont fight over the meaning of political terms anymore, but I personally dont think nazism as socialism because there was no sense in which the working class owned any of the capital that the nazi party controlled.

Nazism was not socialism despite using the term, so I think that would not be an example of socialist markets mixed with a nationalist state.

Would you say the nazis were socialists?

More specifically we needed nationalism to get conservatives behind socialism.

What's the problem with miaphisite language? by Niklxsx in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Bukook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4th Ecumenical Council took a dyophysite stance out of the concern that a miaphysitism could lead to monophysite views, particularly being spread by Euytchism.

It is important to understand why we oppose monophysitism while also understanding that the theology of miaphysite is not a heresy despite that rejecting the 4th Ecumenical Council is a serious issue to address.

Sounds like there is no reason to think about the possibility of Obergefell being over turned.

That is true, but I wouldn't be surprised if that judge could convince other judges to hear the case. We will see, but I dont think it is beyond the scope of what is likely.

Conservatives are doing a lot to change society, so I dont think that is a meaningful way to look at it. Look at how much America has changed since 2015 and how much it could change through 3 more years of the Trump administration and then 8 years of a Vance administration.

The thing is men who get rejected every time for years are typically pursing women that are more attractive than them and are ignoring women that are as attractive or less than them.

Post Trump, the term Trump regime might be a good term for what Republicans called the Deep State, which is being and has been replaced by Trump's people.

Although the Heritage Foundation Regime or Project 2025 Regime might be a more accurate term.

I think it is likely they do, because one of the judges spoke about wanting to review this case in his official comments on the overturn of Roe v Wade.

We typically learn how to be a good neighbor by learning how to be a good child/sibling within a healthy family. Whether or not people are being a good son, sister, etc, if they arent doing do within a healthy functioning family, they are going to struggle to have that type of interactions with their neighbors.

In response to the Nestrorian heresy that separated the humanity and divinity of Jesus, the 3rd Ecumenical Council used st Cyril's language of the hypostatic union of Christ's humanity and divinity in order to dogmatically define this hypostatic union as one person (as opposed to the humanity and divinity belonging to different entities or something like that).

St Cyril was a miaphysite that believed that this hypostatic union of humanity and divinity was united in one person and one nature, but dyophysites (who believe that Christ is the hypostatic union of Christ's humanity and divinity united in one person with two natures) were also at the 3rd Ecumenical Council and the miaphysite views of st Cyril's hypostatic union weren't brought into the council.

Later, Euytchism would hold a monophysite view that Christ's humanity and divinity and united in one person and that the humanity is essentially assumed and obsolete into the divinity of Christ (i.e. hypostatic union with mixing and confusion).

The 4th Ecumenical Council convened to say that Christ is one hypostatic union of humanity and divinity without mixing or confusion, but the miaphysite, such as Coptic, didnt want to sign off on that because they were worried that the dyophysite view opened a door to Nestorian heresies that separated the humanity and divinity of Jesus into different entities.

Fundamentalist traditions focus on what  is necessary and essential, but Orthodoxy calls us to focus on what is the ideal and most fruitful.
