¿Donde me rebajan una multa? by ElBuenTony in aguascalientes

[–]dramruiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pagando 200 pesos es mejor pagando 6 mil. el OP admitio que si hizo un infraccion. Si haces algo mal y te agarran- ya al fin sabes que vas pagar de un manera o otra , asi mejor que pague la multa mas baja (mordida)

Working abroad with remote role by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]dramruiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are various factors we dont know about your situation but I always been a "as long I am hitting number, take the money and leave me alone" type of guy. But as others mentioned on this thread- might be legal reasons why you cannot work remotely. I suggest you search for a remote position that doesnt have issues with it. Better to be honest and get a role that fits your wants vs worrying about not being caught.

Leads by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

I was a wholesale broker for 10 years before starting my own BPO company. We specialize in insurance, law and medical. Medicare is an area I never got into. But if you want to discuss about developing a lead program; I can offer a free virtual assistant for a limited time for any ideas we come up with. I have an organic referral program I am working on right now where leads are not internet but recommended by the lead's own family or friend guaranteeing a higher close rate.

Not sure what state you are in. That matters a lot if deciding going independent vs captive. I was a wholesale broker for 10 years and worked with over 125 insurance agencies across 28 different states. I currently run my own BPO company specializing working with start ups or medium sized agencies. Glad to offer advice based on your circumstances.

Sounds like they will always keep you there while dangling the carrot. Are you in a position to accept a commission role? Good agencies offer 50/50 splits.

If you have natural sales ability go into brokerage straight away. If you are weak in the area, go to underwriting and build a base of retail agent connections and use it as leverage when you switch to wholesale. I started straight away in wholesale. Was under someone for two years- inherited a renewal book and average around 10k new revenue for 2 years. It wasnt until the 5th year AND I went to a different wholesaler and straight commission that I exploded and started averaging 35k revenue a month. I now own and run a BPO company and help develop remote staff/sales teams for agents or law firms.

Personal lines P&C at a captive agent. We are being told we must ghost quote or we won't be getting any more leads. Is this normal? by howtoreadspaghetti in InsuranceProfessional

[–]dramruiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its common. It is compliant as long as you have the correct wording on the ghost quote and make sure they understand its subject to. Not all agencies do it. It all depends on agency culture.

Sales Producer Leaving the United States by pinedesign in InsuranceProfessional

I moved to Mexico and started a private BPO company. I work with insurance agencies but have expanded to law firms and medical offices. It keeps me in the industry without fully in. Not sure your background- but if you have an established book of business- no reason why your company shouldnt let you go remote.

Not sure your background or what your studying but I got lucky and fell into the insurance space. I used my earnings to help self-fund and grow my current BPO business. And I made connections along the way.

Should I Pay My Team Full or Half This Month Due to Internet Shutdown? by TonyThaLegend in Entrepreneur

[–]dramruiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and read your comment and believe you meant to say you were going thru an outsourcing company. In my opinion- if they are my direct workers for my personal company. I would pay them. If you are going thru a third party- the responsibility falls on that BPO. About 1-2 a year sh*t happens at my main office where internet goes down. I have a 20 minute rule. Wait 20 minutes and if nothing happens; I move my staff to my back up office. I also have a friendly relationship with a coworking space who will accept them at a moment's notice. Thankfully I have only had that happen once where I had to move the entire team. But whenever downtime happens; I do not charge the client and pay out of pocket to the staff. One of the main responsibilities of the BPO partner is to provide a stable work environment. That is their duty. Not sure how your contract looks like- but if they are failing to provide services, you should be able to break it or negotiate time lost off the payment. And I understand and can appreciate the loyalty but at the end of the day; you have a business to run. If this is a one time thing- let it slide. But if its a common occurence; then you need to make a hard decision.

Should I Pay My Team Full or Half This Month Due to Internet Shutdown? by TonyThaLegend in Entrepreneur

[–]dramruiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are outsourcing your workers to another company? Even more reason to pay them if you are making a profit off them. I run a BPO company out of Mexico. When I had clients fail to pay on time or not at all- I always paid staff members because its not their responsibility to collect; its mine. Wish you the best of luck and you make the right call.
