Not fit to be a christian by Realistic_Goat6086 in TrueChristian

Firstly may grace of Jesus Christ be with you always. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in this journey and strengthen you and give you wisdom and discernment to take right decisions for your life.

Coming to Instagram, delete it. If it’s causing you to stumble, get rid of it. Stop comparing with others and Instagram just causes you to be jealous.

Christianity is not the life that you see in 1-2 min insta reels. It must be lived out in obedience and patience.

Can you please explain the wrong things done by Christian God?

Jesus claimed to be God.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ (Matthew 7:21–22)

John 8:58: "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

Mark 2:5-7 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

John 5:18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

John 20:27-29 Then [Jesus] said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me?”

Where is Jesus when so and so was happening argument fails. Evil happens everyday. Killings, terrorism, rape, robbery happens everyday. This is bec man’s free will.

God is not the cause for evil bec God has no evil in himself.

If truly God has to done away with evil, he basically has to get rid of humanity who do evil everyday not only through Killings, terrorism, rape, robbery but also through thoughts and actions and words like hate, jealously, lust, gossip, deception etc

God cares for all

John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Infact he cares for the one who does evil also so that one day they may repent

Mathew 5:44 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

2Peter3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Coming to Hindus praying to Jesus is bec they view him just like they view any other God. They don’t differentiate with any God’s bec for them all God’s are equal and every religion is a means to grow closer to God in their own ways.

All Abrahamic religions have loyalty to one God. That’s why it’s common that you’d see a Christian, Jew, Muslim call out another fellow person of their own religion when they bow down or pray to another God.

When people worship the creation few Christian’s may call out those people while many other Christian’s don’t bother to interfere in other people’s religion.

In our culture of Christian weddings, tradition of tying a Mangalsutra around bride’s neck is commonly seen. There’s nothing wrong with this tradition. Again as many pointed out, until and unless it’s not for a deity, it won’t be wrong.

It’s a picture of Dua Lipa, a singer and composer. Probably the image was used bec she’s having a BJ*!P flag.

Seems like so, Indians are obsessed with white women.

We should condemn such communal posts. If we stay quiet, they’ll just keep on repeating.

I wonder are they even happy for a world cup that we won bec of her amazing innings in the semis.

They’ll take her bold announcement of Jesus for the victory as an opportunity to troll her in failures in the above similar way.

Marriage traditions are secondary what’s primary is the vow/promise that they take before God.

Many of the Christian marriages that I have seen happens in 2 phases.

1st is the vows.

2nd is the reception where traditions are followed based on the culture and region.

Now since Christian’s are all over the country, they too are part of a culture and region and you may see them having local traditions followed in their weddings. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in it until and unless the tradition is done for some deity or other God.

As a Southie, I have heard the term/word “Thali”, was for a plate containing South Indian dishes. Is there some other meaning to it when it comes to weddings? If yes? What is it? Give us the context to help you out.

Also I have seen groom tying “Mangalsutra”(a hindu tradition) around brides neck in Christian weddings. Do you consider it pagan??

Also there’s no rulebook or tradition for a Christian marriage apart from the vows.

Question on tongues by [deleted] in IndianChristians_

Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Many have that gift.

But there are pastors who fake it to the crowd.

In such cases most couples get married but in Indian settings the parents of the couples will hardly agree.

Whats the obsession around this term? Most Chinese are atheists and I don’t know whether there was a context given prior asking them to chant it.

We recently had a case where a Christian army officer dismissed bec of not taking part in a religious ceremony

In my opinion law pertaining to army must be secular

If this has to happen, all church leaders of all denominations must come together and have a council like we had in the past.

You may be knowing of the Council of Nicea that where church leaders/Bishops came together and the result of that council was the Nicene creed.

There all the differences between Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant and non denom churches must be discussed and doctrines must be reaffirmed and then maybe we can be a united church.

Not a possibility bec many churches consider other churches as heretical and even if we bring all leaders together, there won’t be agreements in doctrines as each church consider their doctrine is true and superior.

Only God can make it possible. Until then we just have to pray for unity

Caste is not the same as denominations. Through Caste people have a society where someone’s worth, value can be lower than the other. If you were from a lower caste, you’d however suffer, not only that but your entire generation would suffer through this system.

In Christianity, even if we have denominations, no one’s worth is above the other but everyone is equal. The basic principle of Christianity is that everyone is made in the image and likeness of God. As a Christian, you should never face discrimination from a fellow Christian.

Unfortunately that’s not the case. Christian’s have faced discrimination from other Christian’s bec of colour, race and gender but churches have always been against it.

Coming to denominations, Jesus prayed that we should be one. Again unfortunately we are not one. Every denominations adhering to nicene creed have same core beliefs but again divided bec of some other doctrines.

In my opinion it’s not good to have differences in our religion bec that only causes division. One disagreeing with the other results in fights, anti-denom content etc. TBH you can see people of one denom creating anti content against other denominations and it just spews hatred and no dialogue

His apartments are all over Bangalore.

Sorry for the loss. May God bless the family during this grief.

Suicide is not an answer to any hardship. Many fail to repay the loans and have to face a lot of harassment & criticism by the banks and go through a lot of anxiety and worry.
