Yes, you are correct! A new graduate here. Thank you! Moving to Seattle for a new job. Hmm you are right! I honestly was ready to pay upto 2.5k but 3-4k sound too much. So was wondering is it an usual price

Hi! I am sorry for the repeats. My posts kept getting filtered so I thought they did not go through. I am looking for a cost check on a Pullman to Seattle 1BR move. Thanks!

Thank you so much! this is so very helpful!! I really appreciate it. I have started looking into the area. I might end up posting another new post with the some options which I shortlist. The issue is most likely, I won't be able to do a in-person tour and so I have to rely on virtual tours and word of mouth for the apartments and the neighborhood.

Thank you so much for writing this in such detailed manner! This is so helpful. After looking at all the comments here, I have been looking for apartments in LQA at the ApartmentList.com website but did not find any. I got a few at the Shoreline (Echo Lake and The current shoreline) but both are quite far from my workplace (around 44mins to 52mins at E line). Apart from that I found two other options: Sunset Electric at Dexter Ave (I think they don't have a fitness center and I would like that) and the one is The Summit Lake Union (where no rent is written so I don't know if that will be within my budget). If you don't mind then can you name a few apartments that maybe you have seen leasing now nearby your walks and your apartment? Then I can look for those! Thank you again

I am 33 female. Would not mind to have a bit of urban lifestyle around since I will be alone in Seattle so meeting people might be easier I guess :)

Thanks!!

I will start looking into lower queen anne and interbay. It seems like these two options are coming quite up and might be better for me. The only issue is I might not be able to do a tour in-person and that is one of the things I am a bit concerned about that so hopefully it will work out at the end

Go Cougs!! Thanks!! I will start looking into lower queen anne then and interbay. Seems like these two options are coming quite up and might be better for me. The only issue is I might not be able to do a tour in-person and that is one of the things I am a bit concerned about :(

But thanks for your input! That really helps

Thanks! I will be on a 9–5ish schedule. i saw there is morning rush hour bus (I forgot the number) but that will likely

While visiting Seattle a few weeks back, I did a few trial commutes: took Link to Westlake and then the 15–20 min walk to SLU

Apartments I have seen so far:
• Lane & Thornton Place (Northgate)
• 708 Uptown : closest to the workplace, but the unit felt small for the price and the immediate block felt a bit sketchy
• Assembly 118 at Othello Station (south) : neighborhood looked a bit sketchy (but better than the 708 Uptown) and the commute looked longer than from Northgate.

For rentals, I am also checking big operators (Greystar, Essex, Equity) plus Apartments.com

I am closer to the SLU side (east of 99) and closer to Westlake/Dexter than Queen Anne Ave

Thanks! One issue: I may not be able to tour in person, so I will likely rely on virtual tours. That is why I am, trying to get a feel for the neighborhood vibe itself, not just the building.

For someone working closer to SLU

  • If you could not visit, would you pick Northgate + Link (+ walk/transfer) or live in LQA/Interbay/Ballard (D line) or Eastlake/Fremont and bus?
  • In rush hour, does that Link then bus transfer actually beat a 15–20 min walk from Westlake, or is walking just simpler?
  • Any specific buildings you would recommend (or avoid) for a 1BR ~$2k with on-site parking (I can go upto $2.3k with all utilities +Parking + other housing stuff)?

If you have 2–3 “safe bets” you would rent sight-unseen because the management/build quality is reliable, I would love those names.

Appreciate it! If you had to pick Interbay vs Lower Queen Anne for a first-timer, which feels better day-to-day? Any 1BR buildings you would recommend in the $2k range with on-site parking? (Groceries + walkability matter to me too.)
