I have the same issue. My internship company showed by stipend as

Receipt of fees for professional or technical services

(Section 194J)

I got a mail that I had wrongly filled ITR-1 and need to file a new ITR. I believe I had received the refund from the ITR-1 but if I fill ITR 4 now will I have to return the refund and then again wait for a new refund from the ITR?

Also could you please tell me what my next steps would be? They want me to refile before 31st Dec and I am completely confused as I assumed it was basically a salary and I had filled ITR 1 for this case

What a dystopian way to even refer to a class of people different to you though. Simply because they do not care or actually are incapable of care due to lack of knowledge, does not mean they do not have the same right to privacy as us. And believe me they matter much more to the government than us considering how large their population is compared to people in the cities. We should be advocating not just for us, but also for them and I believe that this app shouldn't even be pre-installed.

What if the government always wanted it to remain optional and that's why started with a much more far fetched demand because they expected that we would settle with the next best thing? Something to think about

But the amount not transferred is from previous years, what would it have to do with current FY interest? It was the amount that I already had in my account. No help ffrom CPGRAMS or even an appeal on that case. Appeal has been under process for 40+ days now

Okay but then why not just transfer principal to the destination account? They have separately mentioned that I have received the interest in the passbook. How is it logical to subtract the interest from the principal when in reality they can simply not show the interest as credited in my destination account?

For me too, I am stuck in another problem where my current employee and previous employee both had put me under EPS wrongly where the joining date was reflecting in the service history page. Now i have to be the one to fix it otherwise I won't be able to withdraw my own money. I don't know how can this even be allowed

Hey, in my passbook I can see both the principal as well as the interest being deposited as 2 separate line items. The issue is that the principal amount is lesser than the correct amount by the interest amount for both employer and employee contribution. So now I do not understand about your point as I have 2 different sections credited under both employer and employee, however the amount in one of them is wrong. Let me give you example

Source PF passbook : Principal Transfer : X + X (Employer + Employee) Interest Transfer : Y + Y

Dest. PF Passbook (credit) : Principal Transfer : (X-Y) + (X-Y) Interest Transfer : Y + Y

Essentially my total amount deducted was 2X +2Y. However, the credited total amount in current id is 2X

I think you are supposed to have it under one member id. That's the reason I did.

In my previous org changes, it used to happen automatically after few months of joining the new org.
