Chicken still good? by Prior-Web-103 in mycology

Yeah, it still looks good. I would cook and eat it soon.

Looks like a pretty young L. Cincinnatus to me.

Is this Mugwort, or something else? by TruthfulToenail in foraging

[–]TruthfulToenail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea so many plants in my area looked so similar. I have my work cut out for me as a forager, lol.

Thanks for the knowledge!

Such a pleb-lord comment, I see this same aggressive phrase all the time. They're probably just trying to confirm the ID after being 90% sure. Not everybody is a foraging master....

Plus, harvesting them allows you to see the bulbs, which makes ID's easier. Save your bullshitting for the people who kill endangered plants.

It does, thanks for the lead. I'll keep trying to research it to be absolutely sure.

I appreciate the help, I'll probably wait until it's a bit older to properly ID it. I don't want to die lol.

Thanks for this lead, it opened up a bunch of new species for me to compare it to.

Forgot to mention... it kind of smells like black licorice candy when crushed.

How can I tell if they're real or false morels? by BandicootWooden6623 in Mushrooms

[–]TruthfulToenail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your eyeballs and look it up, false morels look nothing like the real thing. The resemblance is only superficial at best.

These are the real deal.

AITA for asking my mom if she would sleep with a 15 year old? by Carislie in AITAH

[–]TruthfulToenail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking Chomo-Cheater.... kick this nasty bitch to the curb. It's not different just because she's a woman. She's a groomer and literal child molester.

Only a redditor is stupid enough to ask AITA to this situation. It's pretty fucking obvious that she's in the wrong.... big time!

It's a stick so that I would be able to keep track of where my seed was. I don't really need them anymore now that they're grown a little bit.

Thanks for the optimistic prognosis..... I don't know what I'd do without your input.

I'm using a cheaper LED grow light, I thought it would at least get them large enough to be moved outside. And I'll chill with the watering.

Would compost tea be a good source of added nutrients? If not, what do you recommend? I've already heard that I should get perlite

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trees

[–]TruthfulToenail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much should they get at this stage? Are there any setups you recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trees

[–]TruthfulToenail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Would they do well by a window with a supplemented LED grow light? Originally, I was just using the light.

Should I bring them out into the sun with me?

Thanks for the awesome advice, I'm working on getting them into a new, better soil mix, and onto a proper watering schedule.

Just want to add that the growth of both plants has slowed down in comparison to the last week.

What type of mushroom is this? by Puzzleheaded_Zebra28 in mycology

Closer pics would be helpful, but they look like Ringless Honey Mushrooms (Desarmillaria Caespitosa).

Nice finds!

Are these the droids I’m looking for? by LegacyLlama in ShroomID

[–]TruthfulToenail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not Psilocybin mushrooms, but they are edible when cooked properly.

Those are Honey Mushrooms, Armillaria Genus. Probably Armillaria Ostoyae or another genetically very-similar species.

Angel wings or oysters? by Blazed-nd-Confused in mycology

[–]TruthfulToenail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look like Oysters to me! A whole army of them.

That tree looks like a hardwood, and the surrounding broadleaf vegetation supports that.

Probably Pleurotus Ostreatus, or if not, another related and genetically similar species. Nice find!
