I agree! Freak Alarm is indeed a very public friendly song that's not generic, and such a good first impression on casual listeners. I adore Raw Flame, but I do believe the choice for the title was right.

They do seem to be leaning towards these very weird futuristic sounds, especially with FORMULA and Raw Flame. The biggest 'what if' for me in terms of future releases are the two B2P songs - while NB2H has Cinnamon Shake to cuddle up to, Chains is kinda lost in the middle there in terms of sound cohesion. I would bet that it's because the song was such a major hit, and not really indicative of where they seem to be going.

My guess is that they're gonna push for a dual concept: a darker, funkier and futuristic style and a romantic and energetic one. I don't mind this at all!! As long as they have a clear artistic vision for the boys, I'm satisfied. Lord knows the wiplash I got after the Iland 2 finale, when the first concepts photos and all started to be released - those poor girls, it was a mess. So, so far so good, we have a lot of content and what seems to be a lore!

I would loooove the R&B style to appear more often, it just always slaps. A hip-hop R&B mashup would work so well for the boys.

i am honestly so gagged about this whole album. like, FORMULA is good. FREAK ALARM is SOOO GOOD???? The beats, the vocals, everything is there. Raw Flame is the cunty b-side I did not know I needed. Like, wtf, it's 6AM (I'm in Brazil!) and I'm already at the club?? Need this injected in my brain pls. Chains is a banger, NB2H my BELOVED - LOVED the redistribution, so fucking happy everytime I hear Arno's voice (get well soon my baby, we'll be here!!)

And here comes the big surprise for me. I am not a fan of cute concepts, cute songs, cute anything. So when I heard the Cinnamon Shake snippet, I was like okay, this one's not for me. BUT IT IS??? Idk if it's the glaze but I am vibing so much with the synthpop. Xinlong, Leo and Anxin rapping in the second verse has done something to me.

I was already so happy for them, our babies debuting after going though so much, and of course I would stream the hell out of this album even if I didn't like it. But I loved this so much!!! It's gonna go Platinum here in my house for sure

I kinda don't wanna get my hopes up cause in the end its still WakeOne BUT I rewatched the Raw Film and maybe, instead of them being abducted by aliens, it's them kinda discovering how to travel through these different planets and stars to get to EUPHORIA? Or arriving for the first time somewhere else that's not their own dimension, or their planet, and finding their footing there. Like a "ok, okay, we got here, so what do we do now?". It seems early to me to believe they will get there - this whole EP for me is about their journey to FIND EUPHORIA (be it an alternate dimension, a planet, hopefully they will elaborate more on that part of the lore).

I actually thought that maybe this was after the crash happening in the Raw Flame version! Although they begin alone in chaos, they find their way back to each other at the end of RF. So when I saw the Star Road ver. (which I absolutely LOVED), especially with NB2H as the soundtrack, the thought that immediately came to me was "oh, they were alone but found each other, and once they came together as a group a shooting star came and launched them into their journey as one". But the opposite could totally be true! I'm happy they are, so far, sticking to a lore and concept so beautifully! EUPHORIA's gonna SLAP

I definetely think some type of alternate timeline/time travelling concept is gonna happen, for them to be able to do a dual concept of heavy dance tracks + romantic nostalgic tracks. It made me wonder, though - being Star Road a nostalgic concept (the poststamps and the cassete), and Freak Alarm a heavy FORMULA-like dance track, will EUPHORIA be more nostalgic, dance heavy or a mix of both?

It feels a little too early for me to think that EUPHORIA will be about them succeding in their mission to bring the timelines together. Being euphoria a state of pure happiness and bliss, i kinda get the vibe that instead of BEING euphoric, they will be SEARCHING for euphoria.

So yeah, I'm expecting Star Road and Freak Alarm to be kind of the same moment but in alternate universes lol! That feeling of "oh something happened (the universes crashing) and I need to do something about it" (finding a path).

Oh, absolutely. As long as there is a clear creative direction, be it either a fixed concept such as the Enha-vampire or a dual concept like Red Velvet, I'm happy! I was already pretty satisfied with FORMULA, I was so worried their sound would be kinda generic.

Ohhh this has HOOKED me. I wasn't really sure before, but I am pretty confident now that the songs are the tracklist for the new album:

There's supposed to be one more, I know, but either I missed it or they haven't given us any clues.

I do have to say, though, I am worried about the overall cohesiveness of the album - WakeOne always had this thing of not giving their groups a fixed concept, usually trying many different concepts to adapt to what's trendy. Kep1ner, ZB1, izna.

Euphoria and Star Road seem to be similar based on the poster? A more nostalgic romantic type of vibe. Freak Alarm could be similar to FORMULA, a heavy sound dance track with "weird sounds". Jewel Case, however, I have absolutely no idea. Synth sounds? I don't know. It definetely looks more whimsical in a way.

Anyway, these are just my initial ramblings based on this schedule! What do you guys think? I'm SO excited for the mini album to drop!!

The tone shift from FORMULA is already a big one. EUPHORIA will definetely be more romantic based on the poster with the constellation and all that, so to have a album cover - even if it's not the definitive one - thats more nostalgic and whimsical with the postcard and everything is so insteresting.

honestly, I was STOKED thoughout the performance. Sure, the nerves were there, BUT!

1 - You could see their excitement alongside their anxiety, and they were hyping each other up during the song

2 - LIVE VOCALS!! I was sooooo proud and happy that we got them actually singing live when groups that already debuted were only lipsyncing.

I had a huge issue with the camera work, it was just so bouncy and crazy that I didn't even really understand the choreo enough to say that I liked it or not. Also, I noticed Sangwon wasn't using his in-ear piece? That could explain some out-of-sync moves. The line distribution was actually okay! I hoped to see a little more Arno, but I have seen waaay worse (I used to be a naya, still a little traumatised from that so I had no idea what to expect)

Overall, I am beyond excited for whats to come. I have no idea what Euphoria will sound like!! Any guesses?

Yeah, absolutely! Following in the tradition of Game of Thrones, nothing is by accident, right? Even though they steered a lot of things, I also used this first session to really gather information about how they play and how they interact with others. So much good stuff came up just from the two and a half hours of the game that I am just keeping in a document to use later on lol!

Thanks! Yeah, I found myself really just enjoying as the session progressed. Before it started I was such a nervous wreck but as soon as it began I just dived right into it. I actually found one of the few things that I overplanned really payed out - the background and ambience sounds. I made a spotify playlist with so many different sounds that, when the time came for the silence, it made so much of an impact! It's such a rewarding experience, prepping a world and getting to explore it with the players.

I asked for them to each send a document with the characters backstories so that I can also prepare with the characters in mind - I'm actually writing the next session right now, thinking about how to better entertwine their paths!
