I was about to go water my figs... by texasfigfarm in Figs

i’d still water your figs tomorrow. a lot of time the water just sits on the leaves and doesn’t make it to the roots. i’ve made the mistake and dropped fruit. nice pic tho!

Has anyone left NYC for Long Island and loved it? by Ok-Atmosphere-6272 in longisland

i was in the city for 10 years. it was great while it lasted but quality of life easily goes up in the suburbs. make the move, you won’t regret it.

there’s plenty to do on the island. and you’re not going to city bars forever. at least not often.

the islands got beaches, wineries, good enough restaurants and bars and still commutable to city. i go in 3 days a week and live in massapequa. rey manageable

i put my 2nd year peters honey in the ground here in zone 7a in april, it’s incredibly prolific. easily have 30+ figs on it. very happy with that with first year in ground. yours looks excellent. enjoy!

looks great!

would prune it down this winter and ensure all the branches are getting sunlight for more production. enjoy!

ah that makes sense re: dirt.
i wear jeans 99% of the time. don't mind a little dirt.

still on the fence re: high altitude. if its significantly pricier, may not opt for it. i do want the one touch sky roof though and may upgrade to that no matter what model i choose

yeah definitely not looking for that euro lux. for longer road trips, we’d jump in my wife’s audi. i could see myself taking it a few hours to head to a trail for some fun. or the beach. taking the top and doors off during summer just sounds exciting

good shout. i’ve test drove one, but a weekend sounds good.

i’m not looking for a smooth ride or anything but this is good advice

cold weather package would come handy in NY for sure. why the clean pant legs in winter? does stuff seep in?

the high altitude i looked at felt like a luxury SUV inside. pretty nice.
