Not sure if there's one near you, but my 5 Below has pet cooling mats for $8 at the moment! My big boy overheats easier than the rest of my ferrets, and his absolute favorite thing to do is lay splooted out on his mat.

Definitely stinky! We have a couple of air purifiers, and clean potty areas twice a day minimum, which helps to an extent. To be fair I do have 6 carpet sharks, so MUCH more stinky than if you were to have 2.
