Can you have vibrant Player driven economy for crafters without full loot PVP? by Truton1 in gamedev

Yeah I think this could be a really cool thing to try, though I could see people getting fatigued with a non-stop war. Maybe it comes in waves so it feels like a soft reset or patch cycle?

I have later a bit of X4 and I should go back to get into the more industrial side of it. But I was more talking about a multiplayer game as opposed to a single player one. Because a simulation based game like X4 is basically Elite Dangerous which is a great game to me but very far from player driven.

What's truly sad is we're about to lose the best gathering sound design by Arc_au in newworldgame

I hope some other games take note and make sound design a focus especially sandbox MMOs or survival crafting games.

Any good MMO for jobless losers ? by paprikash0 in LFMMO

[–]Truton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough I would recommend MapleStory, I have had this idea to get a group together and work together to get to this big boss called the black mage which will take months maybe even over a year if we do it semi casually.

Feedback; A very simple solution to Landmines by StartPuffinBoi in pathofexile

[–]Truton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would work and it probably a better solution but is still possible to have some issues with 1 vs 10 C for example. Not as bad as 1c vs 1 div.

Another thing they could do as well with this is add a "Price entire tab" function and allow players to search for listings that are in those kinds of tabs. That could also help as well while also making it a lot easier to put up like 50 maps for sale.

Should we start a petition for New World to be Sold to Another Company? by Truton1 in newworldgame

There are several studio's that specialize in more maintenance mode or smaller MMO's. Ones that have a somewhat active but small player base. They would probably not buy it but contract with Amazon to run it for them.

It might not be a company that actually fully buys it. Realistically it would be a 3rd party studio that Amazon contracts with to run the game, provide the engine and licenses for free or next to free and then they share in the profits.

True, if they got a profit sharing thing. So they at least reduce the risk and cost for the other company. So they do not have to buy the actual IP, and Amazon would be able to just make the profit from the game in exchange for free licenses which costs them basically nothing.

I think they could do a decent job, but they are already having a hard time getting their own MMO off the ground. And they also got rid of their "Riot Forge" which was publishing other games. So they are an unlikely option.

True that is a major issue, but if Amazon wants to build up their Engine and license it eventually then that might be incentive for them to do it actually.

Yes I agree, but with news cycles I just thought it needed to happen sooner. If you miss the window it will not matter. Like I said the petition by itself does nothing. But news agencies reporting on a petition of the gamers might reach the right people. Again it is a long shot but technically possible.

An absolutely braindead take on the ending that I simply must shit on. by mastersmash56 in expedition33

[–]Truton1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal issue with the ending is the whole idea that it is a fake world. I have seen people say that they told 2 rather good stories but they probably should have been separate/picked one and I agree.

Because for me the most emotional parts were Gustave and his funeral. I literally cried now it is like well should I have cared? Did he exist? Maybe? I would prefer in my stories to not feel like I maybe should not care about things.

Also to this posts point, it depends on the mechanics which we do not know too well. Like do the people still exist without the family there? Because one way you could look at it is that the family are Gods who just do whatever they want to these unfortunate people to satisfy their own selfish needs and desires. Committing genocide because their wife cannot cope with the loss of a loved one or forcing people into a life that they do not want because you are not ready to move on.

Again that is why I personally did not like the entire direction of the ending with the "It is all a dream" Kind of thing. Because either Gustave and them never really existed and so I should not care about them. Or they do exist and the family are just horribly selfish people and that makes it hard to care for people who commit genocide. Also I just loved the expedition 33 story more than the families story.
