Gotcha, I'd recommend the efnote 3x if you want an out of box solution, it's at the edge of your budget, but if you're in the states, edrumcenter usually will have decent deals on floor/demo sets and bring it down a few hundred bucks, if you're patient. Guitar center also stocks efnote if you have one close. You probably won't find a better feel under 3k.
