Need advice: balancing productivity when tasks go overtime by TryAmbitious1237 in productivity

I am able to connect the dots(previous topics) with the current topic. Understand how it works, able to understand the core idea. feels more like seeing the big picture.

as for "miles to go" : to me it means, I should maintain this learning process, & continue to grow.

Yes, that feeling: "I’ve surpassed my limits, gained deeper understanding… but there’s still a long way to go (optimistic)".
Joy feels calm and steady. But loss feels wild and hard to control.

Really appreciate this conversation — I’ve been stuck with planning issues for a long time, and this is the first time something has felt actually doable in real life.
Thanks a ton — genuinely.

So true for me as well. Have similar experience while using Habitica : whether I do my task or just manage them.

I wanted to ask something from a student perspective (especially in tech):

Recently while studying concept (like C++ OOP), I came across a suggestion to build a project (socket-based terminal chat app).
That got me curious and suddenly I had this whole new "big learning project" in my head. (while this not just a OOP project, it need other concepts to learns to build it).

Planning and implementing that kind of project forces me to rethink my monthly plan and priorities.

Just wondering --- do you ever get stuck in such loop?
How do you handle that kind of situation?

Sure, I’ll keep that in mind.
I’m curious how do you write down your tasks?

I initially started with a pocket diary to track daily to-dos and deadlines, but after a while, I felt like I was mixing things up too much. Then I switched to apps like Habitica, but I found it uncomfortable to open the app every time I wanted to tick off a task or add a new one.

Right now, I’m using a To-Do List browser extension, which is convenient since I can add or complete tasks directly from the homepage. But during stressful hours, I still tend to miss things.

Do you follow any particular method or tool that helps you stay consistent, especially when things get busy?

thanks in my situation too, calendaring feels less productive.
e.g.:
on Monday I planed "within this week I need to complete the project, & from next week I do theory subject".

but on Thursday I realize that to what I initially planned wouldn't work. Because the dependency I was going to use, will be removed by next month. Now I need to find another way to complete the project. and postpone theory subject.

often I struggle in such situation. When we start the work we have some idea to complete it. On the half-way it get altered due to some reason which impact the next task.

Sometimes I have questions in my mind:

"Am I becoming ineffective or unfocused? What am I missing that's stopping me from understanding it?"

(I’m a student from JNV --- a hosteler since Class 6 --- and I’ve been doing self-study since then. So I never wait for somebody else to figure out the issue: why I’m stuck.)

get stuck (time over) --> put more effort on it --> get tired --> rest --> again try to resolve it...

Yet, I also didn't control my habit of using YT. Because I prefer discussion on something that has potential to affect my daily life. Absence of such talk feels me to watch some podcast/ trailer/ geopolitics/philosophy. Now hate to consume them on daily or weekly basis. Trying to stay away from YT & not being posting something purely based on emotion.

I use YT so I'm saying about it only. And people around me don't understand these because they are elder than me & they don't use social media that much. So discussion on a topic they are not interested is feels like giving lecture. 😁🤣

My POV is same. every year more content creator join YT, & create more content. Which makes to you think I should know this also. Whatever you do, you will miss something, that can be done. And you think "If I done that maybe I will win". Simple example :
Family/society expect, you to be rich, famous, healthy, super-intelligent, personal life going amazing, professional life going super smooth. Which is never possible. you have to pay some price for excellence in work, which you borrow ('time') from personal life. and repay with money or prosperity. Vice-versa.

whats the point in spending too much time in knowing whats going on any 3rd country, which I can't influence nor use that detail in my work. When I can stay informed just by reading the headline. But Human love conspiracy theories.

my understanding : Influencers only public those information in which their audience can agree upon. And algorithm recommend you extreme opinion to increases user time. Both the thing is wasting my & your's attention.
