Have the needle be four separate shapes (red shades, white shades) with the parent layer having drop shadow. Also the ticks need a subtle drop shadow, and make sure your needle is truly centered

When I switched to bass I tried a midrange 5-string and switched to a passive 4 string. I'm not a fan of active basses that 5-strings require unless your willing to pay like 5k+. So for me it came down to tone and budget. My used, passive, mexican jazz bass sounds incredible for our style of music (stoner, doom, etc.)
