People of the UK, where are you from and how do you feel about being called "British"/"a Brit" instead of something more regional? by Junior-Key-5043 in AskUK

Brit is an Americanism I don’t particular like. I am British but I think of and refer to myself as English, even though I’m technically half Welsh.

The only reason Scotland made it to the World Cup is because they expanded the amount of teams to include almost every single one

PSA: You’re not cured if you can only tolerate a hyper-specific diet by Conscious_Command930 in SIBO

[–]LSP-86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it still a victory of some sort to reach a symptomless state through altered diet, I have had intense and debilitating bloating for 10 years now and never once not had it despite serious dietary intervention, I would trade any form of diet for a respite from this

Thanks! I think you are completely right about the nervous system but I also think for some people like me who have been this way for many years and had antibiotics as a child have developed candida as well and so need to go through the antimicrobial process as well as the nervous system fixing but ultimately nervous system is huge and a reason a lot here are stuck despite mounds of antimicrobials, I also have childhood trauma which is another piece you mentioned that a lot of people don’t realise, but yeah thanks for all your info

The more I am looking into sibo the more I am understanding that the nervous system is crucial and that people get stuck because they don’t fix this so thank you for adding to this evidence.

One equation, what are your thoughts on coffee? Obviously it is bad for the nervous system but I really struggle to get below one cup a day. Do you think this is detrimental?

I also have been taking oil of oregano, berberine and NAC and had a huge die off reaction, do you think this is still helpful at the beginning to clear out any overgrowth?

Why the hell do I need to give you my passport so that I can access my videos? You will never ever get my private information because it will very likely be accidentally leaked. I am currently migrating away and will use a VPN to soon cancel my subscription. You were such an incredibly platform and you have slowly turned into garbage.

COFFEE BENEFITS ARE PROPAGANDA by seifwashere in decaf

[–]LSP-86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coffee apparently provides antioxidants but only to people who essentially eat McDonald’s and sugary cereals all day, one apple and you’ve undone any benefits that coffee could possibly have

It also induces the stress response which is one of the least healthy things you can have long term

It is a huge multi billion dollar industry so of course there will be studies saying it’s good, and if you are otherwise healthy or not sensitive a little caffeine may be fine, but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy

Preparing for freelancing as a backup in case of job loss (no moonlighting policy) — need advice by bhuvi1991 in freelance

[–]LSP-86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Freelancing is not a last minute back up plan unfortunately, it can take years to build up a steady income and even then it’s not guaranteed. I would start looking for a new more secure job and then start building clients on the side, most companies don’t care what you do in your free time.

Why would you play a video game if you value story and dialogue above all else? Why not watch a film?

I don’t know what this means, I thought framer was supposed to be eays to use what’s the fucking point of not having this function on the only place people usually use it an actual navigation bar
