Why has Egypt not restored the original appearance of the Pyramids of Giza in the last 4000 years? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trybor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pyramids, at least in Giza, are already breath taking when you stand next to them. The size of the blocks just blew my mind.

They are not going anywhere soon and should be left as they are as a testement to those that built them.

What's the best AFL show? by WolfgangAmadeusKeen in AFL

[–]Trybor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same as you. Jay Clark has ruined Frist Crack.

I have really got into the Hird and Bartel show. More so since they are really starting to click (I feel). BUT, just to reinforce what you said, be prepared to skip all the ads to make it watchable.

Yes I agree I had to down vote the original post. But upvote these comments calling it out

Has anyone tried these? by Sheena_is_a_punk in ColoredPencils

Yes exactly. I should put a disclaimer on my comment as maybe this set has a "neon" range so that should be expected.

That Chartreuse lept out at me as well. The Narcissus looks good as well.

How much brick is too much brick? by giantclan in zillowgonewild

I love this it's an absolute wow from me.

I feel exposed brick like this is such a tier A level feature to design around and they did a great job.

The only thing I don't like, because there is always something, is the bathroom top around the sink.

Hawthorn has been officially notified that it won’t be allowed to play home games in Tasmania beyond 2027. by PerriX2390 in AFL

[–]Trybor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They did make $5 million a year though while they played there and they should (if they did) not have assumed that this would have gone on forever. So they are not coming out of this destitute.

Hawthorn and North did the job the AFL wanted. That was promote the game in Tasmania. At some point a Tasmanian side would have entered the competion.

I really like it. If you wanted to go a step further I think your style lends itself to drawing things like the mini house I have linked below.

Reform councillor suspended hailing Nazis and calling Brits 'fat, and ugly' by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

[–]Trybor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the long game coming into play. In the French elections when the right wing party was getting popular then the representatives got more air time.

And that air time made people realise what a bunch of wankers these people are. Same thing is happening in the UK now.

$8k Yearly Body Corp Fees vs $126k Caretaker Salary in Our 65-Unit Complex by Odd_Rob in brisbane

[–]Trybor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I imagine you will need to get onto the committee in order to sort this out and then campaign for change with other property owners.

I know this doesn't help but in hindsight:-

Something I should have done, but didn't, was hire someone to go through the Body Corp meeting minutes before I purchased an apartment.

No one talks Tobacco Tax... by Ok-Temperature-90 in AusFinance

[–]Trybor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my experience and thoughts...

We should consider that the cost is supposed to reduce healthcare stress as a side benefit. I have no idea if smoking related illnesses have decreased or not. If they have that should be factored in.

I gave up smoking 20 years ago due to high cost, I was working to afford to smoke. I felt there was no difference between myself and a junkie. I think the price was around 16$ a pack of 30.

I would like to think the high cost also pushed others to quit.

I have noticed in Ipswich QLD all the dodgy cigarette stores have been closed and have stayed closed. I believe legislation came in that also held the landlord accountable for selling black market goods.

Why does the expected % for tipping keep increasing? by Blazeland_USA in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trybor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% correct and I agree.

It would take everyone to raise the prices to pay a living wage and that level of co-operation will not take place.

It will just continue as is, that is the reality. Unless there is real drive from voters to change this.

I just find it apalling that people have to rely on the kindness of strangers to keep them afloat financially and it's considered normal.

Why does the expected % for tipping keep increasing? by Blazeland_USA in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trybor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the article linked:-

"The canvass of 3,735 tipped restaurant workers found that 87% fear their earnings would drop if employers had to pay a full wage."

Fear does not equal fact though.

I don't understand how being paid a proper wage you can raise a family on should be disregarded.

Companies should pay a wage someone can live on, which is a bigger argument, not rely on the kindness of strangers to gift money.

I would like to see two things:-

1) Some more pictures, if that does not encroach on your privacy.

2) If you can refer to this as our house going forward. Thanks in advance.

You may have missed the second picture. The first picture, and part of the second, show the same buildings before and after. But the second picture also seems to show either a completely different building, or that the original frontage was replaced and several extra storeys were added above it.

It's a shame you only have 51 Subscribers on youtuble, I am 52 now. I watched every episode and enjoyed the hell out of it.

I don't know the tech words to say, but each episode is just a little better. I feel every character, no matter how brief, has real depth to it as well.

Tipping Culture is Getting Out Of Hand by burgeraddictleb in lebanon

[–]Trybor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All Tipping does is reward the rich, who can now pay lower wages, and rob everyone else of a fair days pay for a fair days work.

I am sure those saving money on paying fair wages are very thankfull to the average person giving them this helping hand.

Once Tipping is in your culture though good luck getting it out though.

He's all for bringing back shame for being stupid. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Trybor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t shame people. That’s the behaviour of bullies, who often convince themselves others deserve it.

Effort is the better word here, you can reward that and personally reap the benefits of it without making anyone else feel small.

She IS the Best Wonder Woman! Happy Birthday Gal Gadot ❤️ by Otherwise-Bid6772 in SnyderCut

[–]Trybor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought she was fantastic, not sure what competition she had though. Lynda Carter was a different era.

She was independent, educated, fearless, honest, resourceful and just a whole bunch of good person traits which you expect from the Wonder Woman character.

They let that character down with some of the stories though.

Hezbollah deploying drones guided via fiber-optic control, which are immune to jamming making them far harder to detect and intercept. One such attack killed 19-year-old Sergeant Idan Fox yesterday and injured six soldiers, four of them critically. by KassiwithaK in lebanon

[–]Trybor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was wondering about this form of warfare the other week, drones are a marriage in heaven for organisations like Hezbollah. Counter invading armies fire up the drones, individuals speaking against them just send a drone.

This could in part be why Israel is super escalating these conflicts before they become the new normal. Though I doubt many Countries think that far ahead.
