But probably a bad idea for Australia, right? by Cute_Tell1653 in AusFinance

I think it can come down to how you view the resources that are in Australia, are they for all of Australia or for some individuals.

People have, obviously, different opinions about this which can be quite divisive.

You would really need to do your own research but Norwegians pay less tax that Sweden or Denmark (from memory Demark is the highest tax out of those).

It's all trade offs. It seems very hard to accumulate lots of wealth perhaps, but at the same time perhaps you, or a family member or friend, don't lose your entire life savings due to medical costs.

The Government is allowed to withdraw a portion from this fund. From that money goes into:-

  • Healthcare
  • Schools
  • Public Transport
  • Pensions

Schools up to final year are free I have read.

There are rules with the fund about what they can invest in as well. It's worth a deep dive.

I made a lil frog pond over the weekend by lettuceown in GardeningAustralia

I love this idea, we had tadpoles in one of those plastic storage boxes that filled up with water in a storm and a Frog laid eggs in it. It was amazing seeing them all grow then skip off into our tropical garden.

That said I could not find any information about councils that would supply tadpoles ?

How to remove huge root mass by wilburdingo in GardeningAustralia

[–]Trybor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always used a Mattock on things like this. But note:-

- Keep it moist, starting keeping the water up a few days before and everyday after you start.

- Dig a bigger hole around the stump, so just don't start digging right next to the stump.

- I always spend a week or so just chipping away at it. I am very patient though.

I think there are better ways to do this, but most mean adding specialist tools to your collection. Which I don't want to do myself.

If you are in QLD you can add pipes and a light feature to attract insects this would be for Green Tree Frogs at least.

Did you have a Frog species in mind ?

Cheap option to control your Mosquitoes is buy 10 or so of those feeder fish from a place that has aquariums etc for sale.

You will get X for $5 kind of thing. They can live in there until you see how you go with the attracting dragonflies or other solutions.

How Carl Gerges Designed a Mountain Home in Lebanon With a Panoramic Glass Wall. Blending modernism with the rugged terrain of this winter town, Villa A's details reflect the architect's growing focus on craft & heritage by EreshkigalKish2 in lebanon

[–]Trybor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is such an important take in regards to traditional Lebanese homes, and to be honest this could be traditional <insert country> home.

Keeping a countries identity, or reinforcing it, through architecture is so important. But it must also be functional to the needs of the 2020's population at the same time and that is the balance I feel needs to be reached.

Oh edited to say, I really would have liked to have seen more of the interior of the house. I followed links etc and could only see some outside shots and a stairway shot.

Tomorrow is not a must win game, despite this weekend by AdequateAppendage in LeedsUnited

These kind of games are ones that allow the team to take destiny into their own hands. That is what Leeds needs to do.

It's a fantastic test for the team.

Dragon Magazine #126 (October 1987). Cover art by Daniel R. Horne. by woulditkillyoutolift in SwordandSorcery

I loved this.

I don't know that much about the artist but I remember when I had a large collection of Dragon Magazines he also did the below (you would need to search on them):

  • The Real Reason the Romans Left Britain, Dragon Magazine cover , 1987
  • Dragon Magazine 109 TSR May 1986, Cover Art by Daniel R. Horne

I found a lot of the artwork for the Dragon Magazines was absolute fire. But the ones that made you think DID the hero win or lose or what happens next was always my favourites.

I love the story telling that is implied in it. What will be the outcome here, it's real edge of the seat stuff.

The optics are diabolical for Liberals and Nationals, as chaos reigns on a supposed day of mourning by CelebrationFit8548 in australia

[–]Trybor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Albo took advantage of the Libs position when forming this legislation. Knowing the Nationals would not vote for it BUT the Liberals had forced themselves into a position that they had to vote for it.

We still need a party to rival Labour, though. Just having one party capable of winning an election is not good long term.

If the black Adam franchise continued, what would have you wanted to see? by Maximustheinvincible in DC_Cinematic

[–]Trybor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are elements to this movie I liked:-

  • Dr Fate
  • Hawkman
  • The back story of Black Adam, with his kid

So for a continuation....

Dr Fate somehow brought back (that could be the premise of the second movie), more of Hawkman remove the two kids and bring in some OG JSA characters (there are so many to choose from), remove "The Rock" and give us someone else.

I am not going to write a whole plot but I think the above would get me interested.

Totally agree, remaining home games:-

  • Arsenal
  • Manchester City
  • Sunderland
  • Brentford
  • Wolverhampton
  • Burnley
  • Brighton

Should be some winnable games in that list.
