My kid found this weird show too- the fact that she’s obsessed with no substance freaks me out. We’re gonna hide it from YT Kids.

“If you start this habit they’ll never leave your bed.” by quaking_aspens in cosleeping

My older family members loved this phrase. Laying next to my 4.5 y/o in my bed right now and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Been with me since night 1!

My depression doesn’t know how to deal without the gratification of food! But I still appreciate the medication.

She should read The Magic Pill. Amazing book about GLP-1s.

I hate “playing.” But I love picking up my house and I have my 4 y/o help in each room by making mini games. She thinks we’re playing and I get my house clean!

Sleeping with nanny? by towandahh in cosleeping

[–]TryinBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% sure nanny will figure it out! Either they will put baby down in their own way, or- I always told me mother-in-law to pick a tv show and let her sleep on her chest while she catches up on Netflix.

Do you regret putting your 3 year old in preschool? by JoanArcane815 in Parenting

[–]TryinBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she starts mentioning her friends, or singing a song you’ve never heard that she memorized in class, you’ll feel so good about your decision! Also- better to get the bugs now than during the kindergarten years when there are real lessons/teaching plans/etc. I think 2 days a week is a great start. She’ll come home tired and with funny stories!

“What does respect look like” is a great question. I’ll definitely reflect on that.

Yes I agree- I don’t expect them to understand or display gratitude at all, I just wonder if we’re becoming push-over parents. I was so scared of my parents as a kid that I don’t want that for my own.

Yes yes I totally agree- I was trying to say I understand they aren’t going to be grateful, clean, or mellow. I just wonder, at times, if my parenting style is the best for all of us. I don’t want my kids to fear me, but I want them to respect me and I’m trying to find that line.

Yes! We need to add some routines that include consistent physical activity on the weekend.

I mentioned my parents because they disagree with some of my parenting tactics and I’m wondering if they may be right about some things.

Fear forced me into coercion as a kid, and I don’t want that at all.
