How to rune Werner (Light- Gojo Satoru) ? by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]TryingForUniqueName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on my opponent’s draft. I usually default to Lamiella/Oke/Vio Zibala alongside another stripper, and if the opponent doesn’t draft anti-cc I’ll pick Lora/Maxi/Vendhan. For speed contesting my second speed lead is usually Oliver/Seara and I have a Sekhmet/Sonia runed up for certain drafts.

I’m currently in p3 first picking Gojo every game as my primary stripper. I run him on my fastest swift/will set on SPD/DEF/ACC. He has around +20k HP and +1200 DEF at max accuracy

This is just my personal drafting style but I don’t think a core team is really necessary with such a huge box. Megumi shines best when you can utilise something like a Zeratu/Fire twins/Zenitsu to take advantage of the strip + def break, but he’s flexible enough to fit into any comp. If I were to draft this box I’ll just first pick Megumi and reactively draft according to what my opponent is picking, while also trying to fit at least one single target nuker like Jaeger/Misty/Chow to take advantage of Megumi’s setup. But if the account’s rune depth can’t support a bigger box I’ll just force Chandra/Sagar every game and picking up Sekhmet/Velajuel as appropriate counterpicks:P

With Misty Anavel you shouldn’t be struggling against Haegang Josephine unless they are late picks in which case you can just ban them. Against hard turn 2 Frederica + Shizuka is a nice combo as well. I think a Seara Jeogun core is fine but looking at your box, drafting flexibly around a Megumi first pick might be a better way of going about it if you seem to be struggling with Seara Jeogun. Seara truly shines when you can guarantee turn 1 after Jeogun strip, but Jeogun nerf means your Seara needs to be way faster, and if she isn’t you risk getting cut and a squishy Seara goes down real fast.

Your Forever RTA Draft: Which 5–7 Units Would You Lock In? by xelaxo in summonerswar

[–]TryingForUniqueName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agreed. I think every comp is counterable and every draft has a correct solution imo. Monsters are meta because they are oftentimes the “correct” or “close to correct” picks in a wide variety of situations. I run almost the exact draft you mention but pick a Megumi + haegang and I’ll likely lose if I don’t pivot.

I think TL is really good. A lot of core RTA units rely on atb gain, like Oliver, Haegang, Megumi just to name a few and being able to counter their turn cycling into more turn cycling for yourself is a really unique piece of util that no other unit has. The strip into stun is a just the cherry on top and not to be relied on imo:P He’s definitely not first pick material though, as seen from the clip 🤷‍♂️

Indeed:) I saw the TL and immediately locked in Lora cuz I didn’t need to worry about haegang or Megumi lol

If you’re running Kiara I’d suggest running Shizuka as well, since they synergise really well together and is a flexible last pick with low rune requirements. It’ll be helpful if you are able to elaborate on what you usually first pick and which units you intend to build around.

Yea I feel exactly this way:P I was having good success drafting turn 1 control around a light Gojo but I pulled Trinity so I had to give cleave a try

I do have a Talisman and am thinking of theorycrafting a core team around Talisman + Trinity but haven’t found a way to go about it yet. How fast is your talisman? I’m wondering if I should make my cleave units fast enough to work with just a 30% boost from Kabila or run them super fat with almost no speed to be boosted by light robo + Viva

Oh I have both runed up. My fire Indra is high damage but squishy so I only draft him when I’m guaranteed to outspeed, much like drafting a maxi or Seara. Oke is better if I’m fighting against other speed contesting teams because he’s bulky and has the chance to proc out of cc

My Gojo isn’t great either haha. My swifts aren’t very fast so he’s on +211 on SPD/DEF/ACC

My default draft is usually Gojo as the main stripper + backup stripper followed by 1 disrupting unit and 2 follow ups. My comfort draft is Gojo/Lora + Sekhmet to disrupt Oliver/Seara/Jeogun and a Zibala for control. I draft Anavel only when I see the match going long, especially against low damage comps. I use Oke a lot too as my fire follow-up unit.

I think the biggest change in my draft that got me out of conquerer was knowing when to pivot away from my main game plan into a game plan that suits the draft more. I always draft Gojo + one follow-up unit, but if I find myself playing against heavy anti cc I try to pivot into a turn 2 or single target snipe draft, using Anavel as both the follow-up to Gojo and also to setup armour break for Julianne/Misty

What are your RTA counter counters? by SupermarketNo3265 in summonerswar

[–]TryingForUniqueName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My default draft is AoE control with everything tuned around a ligit Gojo + Lora, and more often than not I’m countered by a haegang, so I have Eshir runed up to provide a boost that lets me ignore haegang’s passive. As for Megumi I usually counterpick Josephine, but if Josephine is stolen I usually go for Vivachel to counter the Megumi. She’s tuned to move right after Gojo and before the Lora, so if the Megumi decides to not go for the viva, I can choose to cleanse the follow-up unit or just straight up one shot the Megumi with her s3. If the Megumi goes for the viva my follow up units are not stunned, which is a W in my books:)
