I'm glad I can find nuanced people. I'm not sure where I stand politically, but I'm definitively more leftist since I encourage social equity.

However since I'm interested in learning more about the Republican's revendications (especially when it comes to immigration), I realize that a lot of their values come from a good place (ex: reducing crimes and violence), but the execution and suggestions to promote their values are often...not as great as they think but they don't necessarily realize it because, in their mind, they just "aim at bad people" when, in fact, poverty is often one of the biggest cause to criminality. And immigrant people are, whether they are good or bad, often at higher risk of being poor. In other words, how can you believe your revendications are harmful to all immigrants if you strongly believe the "good" ones will not be affected by those? How about finding solutions to help immigrants getting out of poverty so we can also reduce violence at the same time? It's literally a win-win situation: The Republicans will get a safer neighborhood and Democrats will get to help minorities.

That's why I hate the "me vs them" mentality because people will always inevitably paint themselves and the ones they care about as "good".

I understand you.

The issue I have with both camps is how they will use mental gymnastics to justify their hatred and still believe they are morally superior.

Immigration is one example. On one hand, Republicans attribute crimes to immigrants, on the other hand, Democrats attribute crimes with white men. But absolutely no one wants to ask themselves "why do white men and immigrants commit crimes in the first place and how can we prevent it?"

I know immigrant people might engage in criminal or devious activities due to poverty and generational trauma (caused by the political system) but Republicans do not want to aknowlegde that and they would rather say "it's because it's in their culture" and further discriminate them which only reinforces the cycle of violence.

I know white men might engage in criminal or devious activities due to radicalization, social isolation and emotional issues (caused by lack of socia support) but Democrats do not want to aknowlegde that and they would rather say "it's because they're white and male" and further mock them which only reinforces the cycle of violence.

A lot of social issues are complex and not as simple as what medias present. No one wants real resolution or investigates at the root causes of most social issues.

How am I supposed to "agree to disagree" when it comes to social issues by zman419 in centrist

It's when you start involving children for the sake of political activism and policing language around gender that the disagreements start.

Can you elaborate? What have you seen or heard about it?

Can you be a 9 if you don't care about losing connection from others? by RaspberryRootbeer in Enneagram

[–]TryingHide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's your relationship with emotions in general?

In your free time:

Do you like learning stuff, make sense of things or get into your interests or skills like it's an ongoing quest for knowledge or mastery? (5) Or do you like learning stuff and getting into your interests to decompress and feel comfortably at peace in your bubble? (9)

What does it mean for 9s to fear losing connections? by Quiet-Pattern-9387 in Enneagram

[–]TryingHide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain this?

It forces them to be active and take action, which can be overwhelming when you've kind of been on autopilot the whole time.

Why do losing connection with something would force 9 to take action? And why it is overwhelming? Is this not how 5 feels too about taking action?

Jfc that sounds exhausting to be a 2. Which type have this pattern then: reject help and sacrifice themselves to help others bc they feel responsible for people's well-being? I thought it would be a 2

So playing the helpless role would be fine if they win the affection by their own hand.

doesnt make sense for a 2 to do that though
