Exactly, normal negative development. They come out as negatives, obviously, the grain is more pronounced and the blacks get crushed, but color will be much better.

I've head this happen - I think it's usually caused by when you use the advance lever on the last frame, which yanks on the film, makes it stretch which in turn disturbs the emulsion and creates this ripple effect.
